JB4 S2 on N55 stutter between 4-5k when cold?
I've had my JB4 installed on my N55 535 for a few months now without any issues. The car has only 1800 miles on it and the tune has been good until this weekend. It's also much colder this weekend so not sure if it has anything to do with it. During warm up if I give the car slightly more throttle the car stutters and sounds like the exhaust is backfiring when it hits over 4k rpm and then goes back to normal. I made the car do it several times and so far only seems to do it before the car is fully warmed up.
Has anyone else notice issues in cold weather? Alan

Ive had overly lumpy idle before but nothing like stuttering and backfire. The temp has been in the 30's the last couple days up here.

Maybe you shouldn't be hitting 4k+ on a cold, overboosted engine.
I'm no turbo freak, but don't these things need to warm up a bit before they spin nice and easily?

I don't normally even go over 3K during warm up but these cars take freaking forever to get the oil temps to the normal operating temperature sometimes you need the power to either merge onto the highway or avoid a situation. This is how i noticed this happening on my car.

Remove the JB4 and test out the car and see if it still stutters.

I thought the jb4 had some feature that didnt activate it until the car reached a certain temp? (I dont have one so forgive me if I'm wrong. I'm still waiting to decide between the ppk and warranty vs the jb4 and more power)

jb4 on n54 had CAN bus capabilities that tapped into all variables and parameters of the engine so it could see what engine temp was. Thats what allowed you to change maps with volume/track buttons on steering wheel on e9x cars. on the n55 it is a different language I believe? So it will be a while for can features to be available. Right now its more of a set it and thats it tune.

the JB4 does not kick in until the engine reaches safe operating temperatures.

The JB4 is different between each platform. So your best bet is to check with other F10 owners as it has its own special software and tuning different from E90 N55s, etc. There is no JB4 for the F30 yet. Only the Stage1.
