Rain = filthy rear end
Drove through a couple of mild rainstorms now. Black Saphire. First time, I pull it into the garage... Looks so so - hood ok, side panels pretty dirty... Walked around back and HOLY SH*T!!!
Looked like someone dumped a bucket of muddy water on the trunk! Something about the aerodynamics that pushes all the dirt to the back of the car. Never saw anything like it. No question here, just couldn't believe it. |

And the door sills -- after driving in rain... I've never seen anything like it with other cars.
Lucky for me it doesn't rain much here, but it's been off and on for about two weeks. I think I've washed my car like 5 times Ask me in another 2 years, but for now, I don't mind. |

Drove out to the Westvleteren abbey/brewery...in the countryside on farm roads on a wet day...filthy. She cleaned up nice though, until it rained the next day.

I seems like the wheels protrude out more where the rear bumper starts to come in toward the center of the car which really gets those lower corners dirty. |

Even if it doesn't rain the dirt seems to pile up really quickly.
On another note; what is the best way to clean up your chrome tail pipe tips? The carbon builds up way to fast. Is there a way to help reduce the amount that builds up? |

Too much turbulence in the rear. Was actually thinking bout this a few days ago; a better, or rather, a REAL diffuser would make a huge difference by creating better airflow that would improve the pressure difference between the dead space behind the rear end and the air flowing towards the rear. M Performance spoiler sufficient?
Mud flaps would also help, maybe someone could design sporty ones

Mine is EBII as well and I was astounded that my car looked like the above picture after just a brief run in the rain. I knew that a medium blue car would show the dirt but man - this is brutal. And then we have the dusty M sport brakes and the 19 inch wheels to clean!
I have a brand new hobby - driveway detailer! Every couple of days. My neighbours think I am nuts. But then they drive Chryslers! Oh what a snobby remark! |

the new aerodynamics are crazy...all that wind/dirt/grime all end up at the rear.
That's airflow for ya!
