F30 Insurance in the USA

For interest sake:
How much is it on average to fully insure a 328i in the USA for say a 30-40 year old male per month?

Since I work in the insurance industry, I'm going to watch this thread for humor's sake. The US is a big place; 30-40 year old males is a big range (from an insurance perspective), and all of the other factors that aren't even listed in your question (past violations, miles driven daily, other discounts) will make this $$ range completely useless.

Is it more straight-forward in South Africa?

In Texas, about $67 to $80 per month, if clean driving record and $1k deductable. Rate probably higher in most other states.

Thats why I said average. People saying where they are from will also give apicture of differences in different locations.

Violations and miles driven make no difference here unless you take a policy for ultra low milage per year cars, then mileage counts, but never violations.

Would like to know if on average its near $50 per month or near $1,000 per month.
I know the UK is extreamly expensive, but how about the USA.

$150 per month for a brand new $64,000 E90 325i is easily available in major cities here for full coverage.
But a satellite tracking unit is required at around $28 per month

Sounds like it's more straight-forward in SA.

I'm 34 in Ohio, and I pay about $95/mo for comprehensive and collision for my '08 E92. That's with a $750/deductible and 1 point-bearing speed violation on my record. A quote for the same coverages on a '13 328i F30 increases to $100/mo.

Coverages:

Bodily Injury Liability
Current Limit: $100,000/$200,000

Property Damage Liability
Current Limit: $25,000

Medical Payments
Current: Not Carried

Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury
Current Limit: $100,000/$200,000

Underinsured Motorist
Current Limit: $100,000/$200,000

Perfect info, thanks

What would add 1 point to your licence ? Any speed violation ?

Every state in the US is different when it comes to point-bearing violations. In Ohio, it's even left up to the individual jurisdictions, such as the county or city. In my county, any speed violation over 11mph is counted as a point-bearing violation (76mph in a 65mph zone). There are tons of other things....and you can contest it in court to have things reported/not reported to your insurance record.

What a fun system.

I wonder how much full coverage is for a 50 year old woman with zero traffic violations. Oh how I love putting my mother as the primary driver for my vehicle.

I am an insurance agent in Utah and there are so many variables in determining rates. Age, credit, type of car, garaging location, deductibles and the limits that you carry all can change the rates drastically. It has been my experience that most people carry very low limits and don't really understand what they are getting for that $60.00 a month until they have an accident. 25/65/15 is what most people carry when I look at their current coverage. I tell these people they better not hit a BMW and total it because after that 15k is used up, you're on the hook for the rest.

I'm 35, Honolulu, clean driving record. My wife and I are both on the policy, she's 34 and also with a clean driving record.

I don't know the amounts for the F30 yet but here's what I pay for my X5 (the F30 is going to be less than this, although it will get the same coverage):

Miles per year: 7,501 - 10,000 (actual is 8500-9000).

Liability
- Bodily Injury - $500,000 Per Person, $500,000 Per Accident
- Property Damage - $50,000 Per Accident

Personal Injury Protection
- Personal Injury Protection ($0 deductible) - $10,000

Physical Damage
- Comprehensive ($500 deductible) - Actual Cash Value
- Collision ($500 deductible) - Actual Cash Value

Uninsured Motorist
- Underinsured Motorist(s) Bodily Injury - $100,000 Per Person
-- Non-Stacked - $300,000 Per Accident
- Uninsured Motorist(s) Bodily Injury - $100,000 Per Person
-- Non-Stacked - $300,000 Per Accident

Total Premium: $499 per 6 mos

Our second car, a Toyota, has been insured the same but with less miles (5,001 - 7,500), and that one costs $392 per 6 mos

This is 300k/500k liability, with the usual add-ons for collision, uninsured, etc.

I lived in South Florida for 13 yrs; when I moved to Texas, car insurance cost halved.

Farmers Insurance adds a discount for being a Hawaiian Miles Member and American Savings Bank.

Coverages:

Bodily Injury Liability
Current Limit: $100,000/$300,000

Property Damage Liability
Current Limit: $50,000

Underinsured Motorist

I'm 31 in CT, and I pay about $140/mo for full coverage for my '12 F30 335 Sportsline. 1000/deductible and 1 minor at fault accident in the past 12 years. This is through Liberty Mutual which is an endorser of BMW. Once my manufacturer warranty runs out, Liberty Mutual takes over and covers it for as long as I own the car. I recommend Liberty Mutual if you guys own BMW.

Coverages:

Bodily Injury Liability
Current Limit: $100,000/$200,000

Property Damage Liability
Current Limit: $50,000

Medical Payments
Current: Not Carried

Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury
Current Limit: $100,000/$200,000
