Question Will 17" wheels clear MSport Brakes?

Good evening, everyone. I just bought my first BMW last month, a 2014 328d xDrive MSport F31. I have always been a fan of the Borbet Type A wheels and am interested in getting a set of them for said vehicle. My main concern is, I would be dropping down from an 18" wheel to a 17" wheel. My current setup is:

Fronts 18x8et34 on 225/45/18
Rears 18x8.5et47 on 245/40/18.

I believe the Type As were designed originally for the E30 platform, as they're rather aggressive. I would be running this setup:

Fronts 17x8.5et13 on undecided tires
Rears 17x8.5et13 on undecided tires

Is this something that's possible to do? Would it clear the 370mm front and 345mm rear brakes? I have gotten multiple yes and no. While I do know the setup is rather aggressive, I'm hoping the 17" would make up for the offset. Alternatively, I could shell out more money for 18", but they're so few and far between I've only seen 2 sets in about 3 years. Any help or information is greatly appreciated as I am still learning about these amazing machines. Thank you!

MSport or MPerformance brakes? The size you referenced is the MPerformance brake size and I’d be very surprised if you could fit a 17” wheel. I had a set of Type A’s on one of my old E30’s but believe they may just look too small on the F31

I am not 100% certain. I do have the original window sticker, and I can get a picture up close after I am off work and let you know. I believe it’s just MSport, but I could be wrong.

Apologies for the delay. According to the original window sticker I have the “MSport Brakes” Package. I’m not sure if that’s the 370/345mm calipers, or smaller. Attached should be a picture of my calipers on my car. Thanks!

The answer is a NO, 17'' wheels will not clear factory Brembo brake calipers. You could always try a test fit (if local) but its highly unlikely.

Not only that, Those type A are for an e28/e34 not an e30. Et 13 is a 5/7 series fitment.

This is a 340mm rotor. I have the 370mm 2 piece rotors, and they fill up a significant portion of my 19 inch wheels.
