What does this number at the top of the iDrive screen represent?
Any idea what the number in the image represents? It doesn't seem to map to the number of unread messages on my phone.

It is indeed the track number. I brought this thread back from the dead because this picture shows my exact problem. Last week I got my MPPK installed and I think they also updated my DME. Ever since I got my car back, that number is no longer there. I have an IPod Classic that I strictly use for my car. The track number used to display regardless of my use of the IPod (playlists, albums, etc...). I'm trying to find out if anyone else has experienced the loss of their track number for any reason (software update, any kind of a tune...)?

Yeah, it works just fine. And it's even either 1st or 2nd gen!
Funny thing is that when i get put in a base 320i for a loaner (twice already since March) it does not work. Not sure what is up with that.

Do you happen to know if or when you had your last update?

Thanks. I'm going to try my IPod Nano and see if it shows the track numbers from it. It sounds like not many people can get their Classics to work at all, so this may be part of that. Maybe?
