Does leatherette need a protectant?

Hello.

I am new to this forum so my apologies if I am posing a previously discussed topic.

I just bought a 2014 BMW 328xi with leatherette interior. My question is do I need to put a protectant on the seats like 303? I attempted to search for this answer but most topics seem to be some silly leather versus leatherette discussion.

Thanks for any help in advance.

All my best,
Matt

Good question...my guess would be yes to protect and prevent cracking in the sun...but it probably doesn't require leather conditioner just normal protectant

Never used anything on my previous vehicle. Still looked good as new on the day of lease turn in.

Thats the good thing about fake leather. You really just need to clean it with a damp clean cloth ones in a while.

Not sure what you call them in the states but Baby Wipes (wet wipes) are great as they contain a mild moisturiser. Give them a go and they're inexpensive too!

cleaning it would be a great idea, conditioning it to protect it is not necessary but also not a bad idea.

1z einszett plastic deep cleaner and 1z einszett leathercare a great set up for this very need.

I had a mini cooper with leatherette for 7 years. I never did anything but an occasional wipe down with armor all. Looked new when I traded it in a couple of days ago.
