F31 MY2014 vs MY 2015
I spoke to my salesperson a couple weeks ago about ordering an F31. We looked all over for a mineral grey/coral red combo with the options we wanted, but no dice. So, we built one online and I said since we have a meeting with our personal financial advisor May 28th, we'll pull the trigger then. We just want to figure out the best option for us in terms of lease vs finance vs buy, and what to do with our current E90, etc.
He wrote me back today to say that they are going to rollover to MY2015 very soon, although he doesn't have a specific date, since he states he has no way to know for sure. So, incentives will be less, and MSRP will go up roughly to the tune of a 'few thousand dollars'. He's eager to get the order in, but he's not being pushy. He states he has 2 F31s that can be modified as of now, and as long as they don't sell or roll over into MY2015, waiting until next Wednesday should be fine, but remains a crap shoot. We're leaning toward a 3yr lease. Any thoughts on if this is something we really need to rush? Anyone else in the same boat? Doesn't look like an LCI is due until MY2016, so I don't see any real advantage to paying extra $$ for a 2015. Thanks!

Like you said, if you do it now - you will save a few thousands, and you can still get exactly what you want (hopefully). It will be a while before 2015 deals will match current 2014 deals.

End of production for a german built car is 6/14, and 7/14 for south african built cars. Figure about 4 weeks in advance for end of new orders for each location. Last year the cutover was exactly that on the new pricing (took effect on 5/20/13). So I would expect that sometime this week or next week the cutover will occur. I researched the crap out of this and couldn't find solid answers past what I laid out above. I pulled the trigger on my order last week for those reasons. Also, keep in mind that you can have incentives added to the order as they come out while it is processing, and odds are good with the car arriving in July or August that there will be additional incentives at time of delivery that make it substantially more affordable than a MY2015.

Pretty much what the salesperson said. He said we can wait, and even if I don't get the 2014 with my order, he said he may be able to do a swap and still get one. Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the advice folks!

So how did it go for you? I ran into the exact same situation.. my CA came back to me and told me there were no more production slots for MY2014 F31s... He finally came back a few days later with a production date for MY2014 from another dealer or country, I don't quite remember because I was too happy about saving a few thousand bucks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't F31s only built in Munich?

Thanks for the link!
We actually found a used 2014 F31 we want through an online search. We are going to look into financing today, and if that doesn't suit us, we are just going to go with a lease on a 2015. Our SA said if we custom build he will still try to do a swap for a 2014, but I'm really not holding out hope. Nice of him to try though - I'll post back after our sitdown today. We snoozed too long. Oh well. Congrats to those of you who got in just under the wire!

Where was this gem hidden? I would have expected it here: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=383 As for the F32, I see MSRP has gone up by just $100 and most options / packages have remained the same price. Last edited by G30 B58; 05-29-2014 at 08:51 AM.. Reason: added stuff |

Sat down with SA today, and he says he still has 2-3 cars he can swap for a MY2014 custom build. Think that's what we'll do.

Nice - the deals on the '14s will surely be better than the '15s.
I got a June 23 week allocation, so just barely got the '14. With the lease deals right now (which may even get better in August when the car is finally delivered), I'll save a good amount over the '15 with no changes that would affect my order anyways (it would just be more $$$). If you can still get a '14, I recommend going with it.

Excellent info! I like that the trunk lid closes via comfort access now - handy feature.
We were able to jump on a MY2014 today, so we're stoked!
