Right, thats the price of the PPK itself. Labor is what will change the price haha.

What is the labor quote for this? All the extra cooling and stuff like this feels like BMW justifying why they can't include all 335's with this performance gain. Because if it was merely a FLASH more customers would be asking the same question and with BMW not having a very good reply.

1500 - 2k (after installation and taxes) is to steep for me...maybe just maybe if the power gains were indeed underrated and proven on a DYNO that might pique my interest.

There is no reason why the PPK is not the base software with modified boost/timing and throttle response tables. A good software does not require rewriting all kinds of routines when you only want a little more boost and maybe a little less timing to accommodate the boost increase. And I'm sure BMW does good software. This way they don't have to maintain multiple different code bases which is bad for costs. And probably the base software is provided by the ECU manufacturer, BMW only tweaks it for their needs.

+1. That's what I was thinking.

I disagree. If you check with the folks who bought the PPK for their N54 and N55 E9x cars, it was a complete reflash, and in some cases, a new DME. Every time BMW does a software update, it's always a full reflash, even if only to accommodate a replaced part (like a steering angle sensor) or to fix the HPFP problem. Consider the difference between the standard N54 engine and that in the "is" models - they do not share the same software revision, and there is no "overlay" reflash on top of a non-"is" DME.

The DME manufacturer does not write the DME software - BMW engineers design both the DME itself and the software specifically for the particular engine application, and the DME manufacturer builds them to BMW's specs.

I don't remember the labor quote. I don't think it'd be 2k after taxes and what not though.

The Power Kit will include:

•A new engine cover with the M Performance logo.
•A new air box to maximize engine intake air volume.
•A plaque for the engine compartment.
•An M Performance appliqué for the rocker panel.

Expected release is beginning of April.

Do those prices include labor?

I went to my dealer over the weekend...right now my car is getting ready to be shipped from Germany so I can still add stuff to it that is port installed. My CA showed me that I can add the PPK for $1850 (which obviously I can add to my loan/lease) So the Port installed price (for me anyway) is $1850. It also deleted my black glossy grilles that I had optioned as well when we checked the PPK box on the order form...meaning that it more than likely comes with them in the kit....(you better not have to use the chrome ones if you use the ppk!!)

dont want to be the bad news bear, but that PPK is the Exhaust+Grilles package. I remember back around Dec this package came out and most of us thuoght it was the performance pkg but sadly not.

Are you sure the PPK package you got isn't the exhaust + grilles? That price is exactly what that option is... A lot of people were confused about it thinking it was the tune but actually wasn't.

oh crap....I'll call my CA in a bit, but from what I remember it didn't try to take out the performance exhaust that I already had checked like it did with the grilles.....I'll let you all know....

Are you sure it's the PPK and not the M Perf Exhaust/M Perf Grille combo that goes by a similar name? Regardless, that price seems high, try to dig up the invoice price on that if you negotiated your deal at invoice + $XXX; I was able to add the M Performance brakes for port installation at the invoice price of $2,295 vs the port installed MSRP of $3,160...big price difference.

from what I can tell, there is no haggling...he just shows me the price and checks the box....once I get ahold of him this afternoon, I'm going to hopefully clear things up and talk him down...that's a sweet deal on the brake upgrade.

I got that option with the black grilles and M-performance exhaust installed at the port...I paid way less than $1850 for it, though.

Everything is negotiable. Ask him to show you the VIR (Vehicle Inquiry Report) showing your production number and your build configuration, it lists all the wholesale/invoice prices.

I attached a sanitized copy of my VIR for my European Delivery order for reference (before even talking about my order configuration, my CA just said his pricing is: "invoice + $xxx + tax/title" and all of our interactions as I finalized the configuration were back forth emails with updated VIR PDF files, full disclosure on invoice prices, including port-installed accessories).

My SA told me that the PPK is now out. $1100 bucks + labor. Has to be ordered by vin#--i'm assumign that is to confirm if you have a M-Sport. Lead time is 7 days and he is finding out the labor cost.

you have to order by VIN because they need to confirm if you need the new ECU or not

I believe the activation code certificate (FSC) is VIN-specific, as well.
