it defiantly fit, but if you don't have a exhaust clamp (the one where muffler connects to mid-pipe) you have need to take to exhaust shop.

I know it's been almost a month, but did AWE ever get back to you, or better yet, did you install the mid-pipe with your MPE? I just installed the MPE on my N20 and absolutely love it, but it could be louder. Curious to hear what they had to say as well as whether you installed it.

This was their reply,

"The performance mid pipe should work if it uses the same break point as the factory axle back."

I havent tried it out yet because my car is gonna be sitting around alot off and on for awhile. But im definitely gonna try out this combo (MPE + AWE MID PIPE) and see how it sounds.

If the muffler uses the "dimple" where you remove the stock axle back, then it should fit. He uses the word "should" because if something does happen, they don't want to be liable.

Thanks.....I guess I should have more explicit in my question for updates.

I was interested in the "sound" of the combination of exhaust pieces.

Hi guys, I was following this thread when I was looking around if MPE will pair up nicely with the AWE Mid Pipe.

I installed the MPE on my 328i N26 last December 2017 and later installed the AWE Mid-Pipe last February. The sound is very similar to the N20 with MPE and just a tad bit louder. It's only loud on Cold Start but not too loud while driving around. It only gets loud when you get on it. No droning inside the cabin. It makes the car sound more sportier.

The fart (burble) when shifting around 5K RPM is more pronounced (a bit louder) now with the AWE Mid Pipe installed. ECO Mode is the loudest. I love putting it in ECO while driving inside a car garage. It burbles and backfires right around 2K RPM.

Here's a cold start I took last week.

PS: It's a short video.

nice! doesn't sound too much different if at all from just having the MPE w/o the mid pipe. could you post some driving/revving videos, I'd be interested in seeing those. thanks!

The sound is similar to a N20. I have N26 and it has a second cat. N20 doesn't have a second cat. I think if you're coming from N20 there wouldn't be much different if you get the AWE Mid-Pipe. For me, it made a difference on my N26 because it removes the second cat. I could feel a bit more power up top now (high RPM), before it would taper down after 5.5K.

I'll take a video once we get a nice weather. It has been super windy here. It's not really ideal for recording.

good point, I guess I wasn't thinking about the fact that you're removing the second cat with this if it's on an n26. looking forward the the videos.

Hi guys,

I'm sorry I have been busy. To all N26 guys wanting to get the AWE Mid Pipe that has a Dinan or MPE. The sound is very similar to a N20 with stock mid-pipe paired with Dinan or MPE.

I think, a video of my set up isn't really needed because if you look up N20 with MPE. It is going to sound the same.

Here's a 0-80 launch that I did with both driver and rear passenger window all the way down. Sorry, crappy phone recording.

wow that sounds so good! i may have to get this, i currently have a n26 with just an active autowerke exhaust but i think a midpipe is going to be happening.

I need to do this too.

Just installed my dinan exhaust. I cut the stock pipe and fittings the Dinan with no issue but forgot to deburr the OEM pipe...you think that could cause issues?
