This may have been covered before but what about the LED front & rear turn signals that were in the e90?

It's now public I didn't notice it's privacy, it's almost as stock and I'm satisfied no errors.

Anyone want to make a post with error free led's for turn signals and brake lights including links where to buy?

I can't seem to find the link to any that are still for sale.

I just received these and they are INSANELY bright. I'll get some video in direct sunlight tomorrow. Hands down, brighter than any 18, 30, even 45 SMD LED bulbs I've tried in the past.

so at the end of the day, what is the general consensus about the LEDs

I installed some aftermarket turn signals and at least each day the L and R ones trigger a turn signal malfunction message. Though they still work correctly, I get this message still.

Anyway to code this out, or that just the ECU saying I have an aftermarket led and that its not stock.

Seems they're not as much error free as I hoped they would be (and as they were advertised). I then did some more tests and noticed that when you just turn the ignition on, and all the lights are off, you could see the turn signals blink like crazy for a short time. I will try to see if there's anything in the code that we could chance so this would go away but, quite frankly, I don't have too much hope for that. We'll see, but just know that they might not be completely error free as was first said by the seller (and by me as I thought it was true).
the bulbs do a rapid blink during every startup, but don't throw codes out or do hyper blink. I ran LED lights on my 2007 e90 and they did this as well and they do it also in the F30. on the e90 after 3 years they are still working. so i don't forsee any issues.

So are there bulbs that don't flash every few minutes?
Does it correlate with the number of leds and the wattage or depends it just on the additional load resistor? What resistance is measured below the forward voltage?
What are the values for cold and warm resistence deposited in the code?

Otherwise; could a resistor-capacitor combination be used to have low restiance for short pulses? Has anyone measured the pulsewith and duty cycle of the check signal?

Hey everyone, I got these and installed them, looks pretty good and it is bright enough. No errors so far. Damn easy to install.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280709475309...84.m1497.l2649

One thing though, it says not to use these as DRLs because they may produce heat. Should I be worried about that? As they do come on when low beams are on. Would it make them less bright when it heats, or is it because it can damage the housing? The OEM bulbs i took off were extremely hot too.

I have a slow motion video (testing the new 5S ) which shows the difference and some photos.

The flicker from LED's on start-up, and every minuet or so is caused by a self test diagnostic program in the Electronics Control Module. With incandescent bulb's the power the car uses to function check isn't enough to light it up. Because LED's are so much more efficient at using energy the energy actually lights up the diodes. Only fix is to disable the function with coding, or live with the flicker.

Running the bulbs to long can make them to hot and damage them. I don't think they will damage the housing however I have noticed color dulling with inferior SMD LED's.

The best is to code them off when low beams are on then. I don't like the way it looks anyway. I like it only with the rings.

BTW, I haven't noticed flicker with these bulbs. Am I missing a point?

has anyone tried such bulbs? http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/54..._Q5_power.html
I think, they might produce a better beam pattern.

Can the diagnostic easily be switched off, or is it very complicated?
Is there any feedback from zeezz about his coding?

I agree, I just haven't gotten around to doing any coding myself. Led's used on the F30 where incandescent bulbs are installed stock should flicker on start-up and randomly every minuet or so while the car is running.

I've observed it happening on both front and back turn signals as well as brake, and reverse lights.
