Does Shockware reset coding?

Hey all,

Looked for and couldn't find an answer to this - does having Dinan Shockware installed at the dealership reset coding? What about VO?

If it does, will I erase the Shockware if I reflash to 2TB in VO after?

Just want to be sure all these things play nice before I head in and have this installed.

Thanks,

tgm

Generally, tunes are rooted deeper in software.
What do you mean by reflash to 2TB? Flash programming is different than coding.
Are you planning on coding DME for some reason?

I coded VO to enable sports auto transmission, which wiped my FA coding. I don't mind recoding it just takes a few hours and is a nuisance.

I'm also going to eventually pickup bootmod3, but I'm assuming that since I will already have Shockware that their flashes will keep it. Is this incorrect?

Just trying to ensure I don't wipe Shockware once I get it, especially once I move to bm3.

Thanks for the help,

tgm

Fahrzeugauftrag (FA): German for Vehicle Order (VO). There is not a difference, so not sure what you mean.

I am not familiar with all the various tunes. Just ask installer which modules they coded.

For example, if they are flash programming DME (engine ECU), then VO or FDL coding EGS, ICM, and KOMBI for 2TB will not affect tune.

My bad, I meant to say my FDL and VO coding. Still getting acquainted with all the terminology.

I'll reach out to the bootmod3 guys and see what they say. Hopefully any changes from Shockware are read and saved when the ECU is unlocked prior to bm3 install.

Thanks for the info.
