Xpel clear bra
Not my year with car issues ( but non mechanical or bmw related). my hood Xpel is getting replaced under warranty. I have some peeling edges on the bumper, but they offered to clean and reapply adhesive or trim if reapplying adhesive didn't work. I didn't think that would work after speaking to another installer, so I decided to replace it at my cost (-100 off cost). FYI I suppose you would need major peeling to replace unde warranty. Mine had serveral sections with peeling edges , but it didn't seem to be considered a warranty issue to warrant a replacement. At first I was considering replacing with 3m as I could get it installed cheaper, but after seeing the film next to Xpel the clarity was going to be a little different, so I ended up going with Xpel. Suntek self healing was actually the same price or even more. So make sure if you see peeling edges at first install you ensure to get it resolved right away.
As far as quality Xpel has good quality, but I still seemed to have a couple of film breaks from what I assume were rocks. I had 3m on my previous car and had some swirls but no breaks on the matrial from rocks after 3 years. I like the Xpel due to its look and self healing properties, but it seems that 3m was better at taking impacts. I guess each one has its pros/cons. Not sure what I will put on my next car, but definitely a clear bra will be istalled definitely worth it. My only recommendation if you get Xpel would be to use a factory trained Xpel installer. My installer is listed as an installer in the Xpel website, but they were not factory trained. The Xpel guys from the Houston Xpel office seem more strict on quality of installation which is a good thing.

i wish i had put something on my car. Either 3m or Xpel... i figured it was a lease so why bother putting so much money into stuff like that when im just gonna return the car in three years. Big mistake.. the paint is so soft/weak...i baby it when i wash it.. and all i see is rock chips on the hood.. alot of them.. drives me nuts.
lesson learned for the next one.. |

I agreed. Have Xpel on my F32 and a rock got inside the clear bra.

I'm glad I went with a guy who knows the business and trade well, he was more expensive than others. I went with 3M Pro Series with his recommendation (I initially wanted Xpel Ultimate)... No one can tell I have any clear bra at all because he wrapped the edges so well. I got the full hood, full fenders, full bumper, headlights, rockers and he was even nice enough to the the lower fascia.
Making sure you have a great installer is just as important (if not more) as picking the clear bra you want. |

I didn't bother getting one for my first one, big mistake (I do a lot of highway driving). So the very first thing I made sure I do for my next car was to wrap it asap. I currently have 3M Pro and happy with it. Been driving the car for 3months, 80% highway driving (I've put on 12, 000KM) and no chip so far.
