Should I trake this CPO Deal? Need quick opinions!

So I've been in the market for a 335i M Sport.

I found a deal down near LA.

I offered them 40k for everything BUT taxes(Im located in WA).

Vehicle was originally bought on May of 2013. Has around 12.7k miles.

CPO Vehicle. So I will be getting roughly 3 years of the standard warranty/maintence left over + 2 additional years of CPO warranty.

335i M-Sport
Navigation
403M Rims
Lighting Package
Black kidney grills
Auto w/ Paddle Shifters.

I will have to fly down there, check out the vehicle, and then ship it.

OTD I will be paying 40k + Tax + Flight(300) + shipping(~600?).
Im hoping maybe I can get them to pay for shipping too lol.

So I jump on this? Needs answers quick! Thanks again!

Look up sticker on it, take 9% off and figure out if one year and 13kmiles is worth it to you. Generally I found 1year old F30 prices not very competitive.

At that price I'd just get a new sportline. You know, brand new with the smell and all. It would have to be 328i though.

I'm pretty sure the car he has spec-ed out is around $50k msrp, thats ~45.5k invoice.

CPO is the only thing that kind of drew me into this deal. I've been lurking on the classifieds and most people(private party) have been trying to sell the 335i M sport for 40+. So I thought this was a good deal. Shipping may kill the deal though.

Do yourself a favor, check out truecar and ask for quotes at the local dealership. IMO preowned market sucks.

I've learned that if you seem serious and you completely lowball the dealer they will come down even more. Dealer was asking 35k for my car CPO when I bought it, ended up paying 28k by offering 25k

I have bought BMW CPO cars before, but 3 years old, not one year old. The price difference on mine was substantially less than a new car properly negotiated. I'm a fan of CPO, but in your situation I would consider buying new instead for the following reasons:

The car you described in your post has an MSRP of $51,175 w/o leather. Lighting package on a 335 is not relevant since it already comes with it (i think, 335 owners chime in here).

Ordered from the right dealer, you could get this car through the European Delivery Program for around $46k including delivery to your local dealer. Just uses your own or your family members frequent flyer miles to cut down on your travel expense. You will have the trip of a lifetime and a new car built to your spec.

If you can't get to Europe or can't wait, you could buy a new one for less than MSRP and get great financing or a great lease rate.

You are talking about $6-8k difference between a new car and a used one. At least think about it before you pull the trigger. If you buy a 2 or 3 year old CPO, the price difference is substantial and not so easily comparable to a new car.

Whatever you choose, good luck!

Correct. There is no Lighting Package for the 335 since they come standard with Xenon lights
