Configure 'Sport Mode' Retention?

I tried looking this up in the forums but couldn't pinpoint it: with Adaptive M, will the car remember your setting for "Configure Sport mode" in iDrive? For example, I presume the comfort mode throttle response + sport mode steering / suspension would be a great combo for every-day driving.

For people who know or have the Adaptive M / Variable Sport Steering-- If I choose a setting in the 'Configure' mode, will it remember the next time I turn the car on? Can iDrive settings be assigned to profiles?

Best,
crow

Make sure you think hard about what your car will be worth when you trade it in with aftermarket wheels/tires. They were going to offer me $1500-2000 LESS with beautiful 19" wheels because they can't certify it. Thankfully I had the crappy 17's it came with. I'm putting my TSW Zolder 5's up for sale.

Is it me or is there something wrong with the pricing of the msport ? the description says $1700 for the msport line, but in the configurator it has a $3200 addition ???

It worked fine for me, you have to have the aluminum trim and not the wood highlighted to select it however....but I'm not ordering an X-drive so not sure if that has an impact.

They do come with a lot of things that you used to have to pay for separately for one, and on top of that, you have to factor in 2-3% increases every year for inflation alone. I'm not surprised.

$62k for an M-Sport xdrive optioned the way I want

See ya BMW. Same power, fatter car. Either buying out my 2011 M-Sport 335xi lease for $34k next June or getting an S4. Sooo stupid; but I'm sure it will sell. Guess they are opening up space for a 4 door 1-series.

The A6 2.0T will of course be slower, but it's also a better car in many other areas. The A6 is also supposed to be sportier than the 5er.

My E90 328i is very lightly equipped M-sport model. If I build a F30 M-sport with similar option content, it comes out to be ~$4K more. Of course the F30 has some of the things that my 328i is missing, most notably iDrive and basic Bluetooth. But still, it seems you do pay quite a bit for the extra interior room + improved power and efficiency.
Okay that 2.0T on a 4000lb car is a joke. I thought you were talking apples and apples with the 6cyl models. I would be embarrassed to drive that 2.0.

that sounds like an even worse deal.... 50K for a 3er sedan with the entry level engine!?!

A well equipped 328i should be 42-43K and a well equipped 335i should be 48-49K; ridiculous.

Audi has better, streamline trim packages than BMW. This is non-negotiable.

Of course, I dont know why we're comparing the A6 to the F30, apples-to-oranges. When the 2013 A4 hits, it is going to have a lot of the interior goodies / MMI / infotainment that the A6 has and it seems that it will be cheaper. Man, if the S4 and the 335i Msport come in at the same price, it's hard to make a case for the 335i.

The F30 is actually a bit lighter albeit bigger than the E90 for example, and with the 8 speed sport auto with more gears and faster shifts it should at least be a touch faster than the E90 with the 6 speed auto one would think.

If I told you that I would happily cross-shop a well equipped 328xi with a similarly equipped A6 2.0T for my wife if the prices were similar, would that make it ok to compare them? I do know that the A6 is meant to be a 5 series competitor, but if Audi is willing to be so aggressive with the pricing, why should I be all dogmatic about it and refuse to compare the two just because they are meant to be in different classes?

The fact is that the F30 has grown both in size and in character, while Audi has been making a steady march towards the sporty end of the spectrum. Given two German AWD sports sedans with electric steering, turbo-4, similar interior volume and even similar price, I think many people would cross-shop the two.

Interesting, the downloadable 2013 standard and options guide on BMWUSA.com doesn't differentiate the new nav from the current nav systems between the ActiveHybrid3 and the other models.

See for yourself...

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...Specs/DOT.aspx

I just ordered a MY13 335i M Sport to replace my current F30 328i Sport and when I read that it wont have the new nav, it made me sad

Lighting package without premium package required? Wow. When did the configuration site add that? Was that always there for the 2013 cars? I don't remember seeing it before.

That is something I'd be very interested in getting now that the Premium Package isn't required to get xenon lights.

Since I'm on my 3rd HPFP and BMW NA lied to me about the first one when I called them out on the power loss. Thanks to their lies I'll be switching over to S4 as soon as I can, but my BMw ain't worth crap on a trade due to n54issues so I have dish out big bucks for a down payment now.... Thanks BmW from one pissed customer. Fat chance I'll buy another one.

Thats it exactly. I would not be looking at a 3.0T but the 2.0T. at Premium Plus. That Google nav plus the built in wifi is something I suspect I would use more frequently than 100 extra horses. I doubt that it is a significantly worse driving car than my current E60. We'll see.
