I'm still in limbo. Seems that BMW customer relations and my salesman are in the dark over this and how to fix it. While my Salesman said he confirmed that the leather dash was what pushed the production to January, he has yet to figure out how to remove it from the order or confirm if doing so will quickly move the car into production. So time rolls on and I still have a January production date. This is beyond frustrating and brings back bad memories of my interactions with Alfa Romeo in the 80s and 90s. Maybe I need to give the S5 another look. I really don't want to, but I'm getting pissed.

They will probably have to contact their BMW rep and have them delete the leather dash option so you can get the original production date instead of waiting until January.

I was just on the phone for 35 minutes with BMW "customer service." All they could tell me was they have no information. They don't know anything about the dash holding up anything or what the production date of my car is. They never heard of the dash being a problem. They called my salesman. He's on vacation this week and no one else at the dealership knows or can figure out anything. Wow! Did Marchionee become chairman of BMW this week?

Oh, and the original production date was two weeks ago.

Same issue as you guys - my production date was supposed to be last week (week 36).

Finally got in contact with my CA - he can't find any documentation about the dash. However his system says that my production date was moved back 2-3x and now shows start production in November. I think its safe to say it's because of the leather dash. My order also DOES NOT show the leather dash - he says BMW removed it off the order sheet!! so he had to RE-DO the order (doing it now) and re-submit the order. I'll let you know what the new production date is and whether removing the dash helped or not. I want to get that $1000 Un4gettable rebate, so I gotta do it - in the end it saves me $1950

Any updates on the leather dash option? It's still not available on the USA GC configurator.

I ordered mine 10/2, and finished production 10/29 without issue.

I think the answer is to just make the leather dash standard in these cars.

Technically the leather dash is still and has stayed on bmwusa.com but only for the 3 series sport wagon.

I thought it was always $950? Seems reasonable to me, especially since on the red interior you get red removed from the lower dash.

Interesting! Hopefully for the LCI they can extend it to the standard F30.

I guess that's why my F31 squeaked through with the leather dash. These 4 series cars are selling like HOTCAKES

Any updates on the timeline for the Leather Dashboard being added back as a Priority 1 option?

Does that mean that the leather dash will be returning to the list for US configuration?

Correct... this is just a supply issue according to BMWAG. My guess is that the demand has been simply overwhelming, a very unusual lack of forecast for BMW.

The only reason for this is that this is the lowest-volume F3x variant bound for the United States, and thus they haven't encountered any supply issues for it just yet. Demand forecasting was way off for this option!

435i F32, M-Sport, 6MT, all packages except nav. Gray/Coral. 18" M wheels, standard brakes. Ordered 9/15 with leather dash. Production confirmed for week 40, actual build date 10/6, week 41. ED delivery on schedule 10/16. Drop off Amsterdam 10/29. BMW Car-Tracking showed the car on the Oregon Highway, leaving Bremerhaven 11/12, stopping at Southampton and Baltimore. Arrived Bunswick 12/1, currently at VPC being prepped for PCD date TBA. Leather dash installed, no associated delay. In late September, I read the early posts on this topic and I called customer service to see if the production was on schedule. I was concerned about flight schedules and other associated reservations for my ED. The person at BMW claimed not to know anything about leather dash problems and assured me all was on schedule. That turned out to be correct for my car. Love the thing. Muting the Coral a bit was what I wanted and, in addition to dressing up the interior generally, it does quiet the red dash area. Hope the rest of you who want this can sort out a way to make it happen.

Bumping an old thread, does anyone know if the leather dash can be ordered stand-alone for an F31 328xi wagon?
