Your ability to read is amusing. I said "stock" m4. Hence your argument of a MPE is just... I don't know.

This is interesting that this will put the 340i power up pretty much on par with the M2. I know the N55 has components from the S55 but in terms of performance alone (handling, diff, chassis etc aside) it's a bit of a let down for M2 owners.

don't laugh, but I have narrowed my choices down to this 340i MPPK with a stick -OR- a GT350 (ruling out the next S4, C450 and Jag XE... none which will be offered with a manual)
Different experiences, I know, but that flat crank voodoo in the Shelby has me ready to lay down $50k tomorrow. thoughts? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GbbNlkP-ZSM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

To be fair, my neighbor two houses down has a stock F80 M3 and it sounds great, a whole lot better than I initially thought it would sound. Better than the a lot of other cars, it definitely doesn't sound like a 6 cylinder it's pretty wicked. I'll admit though no matter what is done to F8X exhausts they won't come close to the sound of the S65 V8 in the E9X car. My brother has an ESS-VT600 M3 sedan with test pipes and FULL Meisterschaft exhaust. That thing is just beastly and can be heard a quarter mile away. . . easily. The MPE F83 I heard last night could be heard for several blocks away as well. It sounds powerful just not the same as the s/c'd V8 in my brothers car.

I'm not getting the M2 to win some spec-sheet-fight so I'm not feeling let down at all.

2 points:
1) It shouldn't be hard to make a nice sounding M Performance exhaust for the 340. The M Performance exhaust I had on my 2013 335iS sounded fantastic. 2) Having test driven and ridden in several 2015 M3s and M4s, and having just picked up and driven a 2016 M3 for almost 9 days in Europe, I can say that the stock exhaust for 2016 sounds MUCH MUCH better. Whatever changes they made, however small, made a wonderful difference. It's deeper, throatier, less raspy, and more powerful in person. Don't rely on the videos posted on this site. Videos and tiny little computer speakers don't give you any real sense of how it sounds in person. But, either way, 340 or M, it's a BMW, and you really can't go wrong! And the MP parts are cool (albeit a bit expensive, I'm sure) |

- demand has to fall off in a year or two - you'll definitely need to get a base-stripper model and negotiate below MSRP |

I am guessing about $3k installed for this package. It makes for a nice step between a 340i and an M3.

Also they should just make this a P1 factory option. |

yes, similar here in SC.
Once initial demand subsides, you'll likely see out the door prices right at MSRP which is ~$48k. Although I'd get the Tech Package for $7500 for the magnetic shocks, stereo and leather. But I imagine 340i M-Sport with the MPPK is going to be ~$58k out the door, no? |

Sounds no differences compare to the OEM...
