Pics of contacts in ConnectedDrive
I've been researching on how to get the pics of contacts from the Iphone to show up on the screen but I have yet to get it to work. When you look it up on BMW's site, it just shows its there and they call it "videocard images". I realize its supposed to only show up when someone texts or calls you. I have even emailed BMW and its been almost a week without any response.
Any of you guys have gotten this to work? |

From my understanding pictures of contacts appears to only work with blackberries (Not sure what is the required BBS OS ver. req.), I have been unsuccessful getting the contact pictures to work with my iphone or android based phones.

Just wanted to chime in.
Have a 13' with CIC (2012 to 2013 MY Navigation System) and it displays contact pictures with my HTC One running 4.3 |

No extra steps required, just make sure your Bluetooth symbol under devices have both a phone and a phonebook beside it (and headphones if you use streaming) |

Ok. I tried removing my phone again then pairing it up. I see on options its Telephone 1 and Audio but no phonebook showing. There seems to be a space between the phone icon and music icon where the phonebook should be.
I plan to borrow my son's Iphone 5 and see if it'll produce a phonebook or not. I'll update later. As you can see, I don't give up that easily. |

The contact pictures should work on both BB7 and BB10 BlackBerry devices as my contact pictures appeared with both my old 9900 and my current Z10.

Im not seeing any pics in my contacts on my 428 w/ nav and i'm using an iphone 5 with lightning cable. Do you need the cradle for the iphone to transfer the contact pics?

I'm afraid Iphone don't transfer contact pics, 4, 4s 5 or 5s. I therefore will have to upgrade my phone to an S4 or wait till the S5 comes along.

Kind of an update. I borrowed a friend's Sammy Galaxy S4 and the pics on the contacts does show up when you look at them when paired with the car. I tried saving them to the vehicle memory and while the info was stored, the pics were not. I guess upgrading is the only choice here.

Well, if you read through this thread, it is. I've always wanted the ability of having a pic flash up on my screen to see who is calling or texting me since I had bluetooth in the car maybe 8 years ago. I can live without it definitely but I would like to use all the features of any gadget I have, i.e., overclock CPUs, jailbreak Iphones, etc. Its probably a compulsion of mine.
