Am I being fussy?
Evening all,
The car is going back to the dealership Friday to get some snags with OEM spoiler fitted. The front passenger door handle trim has a defect, nothing huge but I know it’s there and the car is only 2 weeks old. Pictures attached. Is it worth bringing this up with BMW on Friday or just stop being fussy?

You are being fussy! :
...but I understand why!! even the smallest of marks I get on the car irritate me for the life time of the vehicle and my eye is always drawn to them.

I’m just worried I won’t get the fixes sorted before holiday. I don’t want the dealer touching the spoiler until they have spoke to my detailer so they don’t screw up the coating. It needs stripping and a full re-spray.

I know you're wanting it perfect and that's fine. I would too.
But life is short too. I've never felt I've wasted my life more than sitting around in those BMW dealerships waiting for them to do 5 min tasks but taking all flipping day! And in 6 months it'll be covered in chips. Scuffs on leather. Soneone with jewellery on hands will scuff the door handles etc. |

I’m the same I’ve had 5 brand new Bmw in the past 4years and every single one including my current M140 had some sort of imperfections mainly interior/leather related which annoys the shit out of me but I’m trying to convince myself that there’s nothing perfect in this world and I shouldn’t be examining everything with a magnifying glass otherwise I’ll never going to enjoy it. Of course still bugs me but trying to fix these small issues can easily cause bigger problems which I’ve also experienced.

I'd definitely ask them to sort it. When I picked up mine there was a ½cm scratch on the passenger door handle brushed aluminium trim. You could only see it from a certain angle from the drivers seat but I spotted it as soon as I got in the car and I know it would have bugged the hell out of me (severe OCD).
The dealer was very apologetic, ordered the new handle straight away and it was fitted about a fortnight later. 2½ years later the interior is still pristine - despite have a 9 year old! It'll eat away at you if you've got any OCD!! |

Two things to do
1 get it fixed and tell them not to,wash the car 2 reject the whole car and demand a brand new one.

You’re obviously wasting a good opportunity there dude. You should be drinking coffe and eating the biscuits there. Then eyeing up any M cars and the girls in reception.

If you had paid £40k+ for a new kitchen and one of the door handles was scratched, you would get it replaced. Same principle.

Here are images of the spoiler.
You can also see the adhesive they use to fit it.
