Here is a update on my vehicle.
Took it in today to the dealer. FYI mine is a base line with 17" Continentals. I drove a identical vehicle except this one had Pirelli's on it. It had a vibration around 50 to 55 but was much less noticable than mine.
They have talked to BMW and really got no direction on which way to go. BMW did acknowlege they have had a "few" issues with vibration. My guess they will put the Pirelli's on mine and see if that helps.
They put me in a identical to mine loaner (17's with the Conti's) and on the way home it vibrated much worse than mine.

My car is at the dealer now for the same reason. BMW has no clue how to fix this yet!! They are trying to tell me it's normal !! But I didn't pay that much money to have a problem like this. Hope they fix this issue soon.

I dropped my car off yesterday for the vibration issue. The shop foreman went on a road test with me and confirmed that there's an issue in my car. Now we're waiting for instruction from BMW just like everyone else. It's the first one he's seen with this issue and says in his opinion he thinks it's the electric steering and not a wheel, tire, or alignment issue. He mentioned that they see a lot of vibration/balance issues with Continentals (in general not just the F30) but eliminated the tire and the wheel as the cause from my car as it has the Pirellis P7 and doesn't do it constantly at a particular speed but randomly.

Latest update.
They changed all 4 Continentals to Pirelli's. No significant change to the vibration except it now seems more noticable around 45 mph. The Service Department is basically saying they are done and they don't think there is really anything wrong with the car. I heard the "it's characteristic of the vehicle. They all do that." I tend to disagree with them.
I am waiting to hear from the General Manager tomorrow (he was off today) for some sort of resolution.

What part is it? If they're sure the part is the solution, it would be nice if that info could be had. Did they get that info from BMW? Most other dealers confronted with this issue seems to be clueless in a fix.

I have baseline with 17" Contis; I have had no problem with steering wheel vibration at any speed.

Just wondering.. how many people now actually have these vibration issues? Seems like quite a few, isn't it?

Fruck. I will be biting my nails for the next 20 days til I get my car and try this out. One question though, is this something you would be able to experience on YOUR FIRST DRIVE? Or something that builds up for miles.

My reasoning being that if I get the vibration whilst on the initial test drive with the car salesmen I would be able to point it out and have him acknowledge prior to taking the car with me.

Just take it for a good test drive. Most vibrations show up around 40-60 mph. It feels like the wheels need balancing or have a flat spot. That's what I thought it was at first. Seemed like a easy fix.

sounds about right.

explain to that them their inability to fix a problem doesn't ratify the car's characteristics making it "normal."

on a side note, I traded in my VW GTI yesterday.. i was going to pick up a 335..then all this crap with BMW went down, so I got:

LOVE IT. doesn't ride as well as a [working] BMW, but i think it is much more aesthetically pleasing; inside and out.
