There are various threads already on this. My 7 connects but then frequently disconnects or freezes when playing audio. It works fine for calls but audio is intermittent. There is rumour it's an iOS 10 issue rather than a iPhone 7 issue.

Apparently Apple are working on it but I wouldn't hold my breath.

No issues for me yet. Doing 1000 miles over the next three days though, so plenty of time to test!

I had IOS10 on my iPhone 6, no issue. But my iPhone 7 has been having the same music connection problems.

I think it's a bigger problem than just Bluetooth - which was never Apple's strong point. I need to experiment more but I think the same issues occur when connecting via USB.

Just checked the software update section of BMW UK. (Admittedly I haven't done this before)

Does Software update UPD05062 solve the issue?
https://secure.bmw.com/_common/share...PD05062_EN.pdf

UPDATE:
Hmmmm - checked the bluetooth compatibility page on bmw.co.uk and for the iPhone 7 for my car. It states:
Audio playback via Bluetooth
Playing audio tracks
Limited functionality:
System failures may occur due to compatibility problems.

Just linked my iPhone 7'todsy and not encountered any issues... yet...
I had the same iOS running on my iPhone 6 too and had no issues.
My car is two weeks old so maybe / should be on latest Bmw firmware.

Spoke to BMW today and they confirmed the issue is with the iPhone 7 and not the iOS. Apparently they are working on it so hopefully there will be an update soon.
The issue only affects Bluetooth audio not calls so the fix it to plug in the USB cable.

This sounds similar to the iPhone SE issue in March of this year. Many people (including me) had dreadful call quality in a range of different cars, to the point of the phone being unusable as a phone in the car. Connection was also intermittent. Others seemed to have no problems. Actual music streaming was fine though so perhaps it's not exactly the same issue as this one. Apple released an iOS update about 4-6 weeks after the SE was released and it completely resolved my issue.

New iOs highlights improved bluetooth connectivity with third part applications.

Let's hope the problem is sorted.
