Paintless Dent Removal on Hood
Hey Everyone,
Just received my 14 328i m sport and after taking delivery, realized that the hood has a small dent/ding. I have included a picture so you all can see. Unfortunately, this must have occurred during shipping and the trucking company is not taking any responsibility due to my signing of the paperwork for delivery. I wasn't able to see this dent until I got the car in my garage. Now I believe paintless dent removal should work and remove this from the hood, but wanted to see some opinions on how good pdr works. The logistics company that setup the delivery is willing to pay up to 200 to get it fixed. Hoepfully that will cover it. Otherwise, the car is awesome. Just really pissed about this small imperfection on an otherwise flawless car. |

My Jeep was annihilated with 5K worth of Hail a few years back. Car Medic PDR had it back to PERFECT condition in two days! Shouldn't be more than $50-$100 to fix one area.

You'd be amazed at the before and after. $200 should more than cover it.

Can't even see it. I had several dents on my hood which I don't even know how the hell they got there. A couple above the head light and two right on the crease line.
I'd recommend PDR, I got PDR done on it and you can't even tell it was there. It depends where on the bonnet the dent is as some parts of the bonnet is doubled skinned. They go through the holes on the under skin and and might scrap some paint but is easily touched up. The BMW aluminium hoods are too soft, just remember to close the hood by dropping it and not to close by pressing on it Last edited by kingmonkey8; 12-03-2014 at 05:28 PM.. |

Do you guys recommend going to the dealership and having their PDR people handle it or have a franchise come out to the house. I can't seem to locate any individual that does high quality work, no one has any referrals in my area.
The only reason I was thinking of the dealership was they would let me get a loaner while it gets worked on. |

I have buddy that is in PDR and the work almost seems magical. You will be very happy with the results.

I am constantly amazed by peoples' inability to work a camera. I know your not looking to mount and frame the image, but what kind of composition is that?
As a reference... My F30 suffered a ding about a month ago. Luckily the damage wasn't on a body line so it was fixed to perfect for about $100.

I had something similar happen to the hood of my car while at the detailers not too long ago. PDR guy fixed it completely and you can't see a mark (I'm also quite anal about that kind of thing). Don't sweat it for a minute.
