^ I don't know what's the exact size that you guys are referring. I am going to use Simply Tires (Toronto) price list as example.

If I remember correctly, 225/40/18 - Pirelli Sotto Series 2 RF, his price list it at $1140 + $24 Ontario tire levy + HST = $1315 (all incl. - taxes, mounted, balanced & installed). This is not counting his group buy/early bird discount of $30 (set of 4) for buying just the tires.

By the way, Pirelli Sottozero II RFT 1600$ from tirerack or 2300$ from my local KalTire.
I've been told that mounting and dismounting your tires too many times could damage them.

also, the cost of doing so add after a few seasons. you're probably better off getting a set of rims for winter and go with the smallest size rims that will clear your brakes and save some money on tires while you're at it.

For those of you that have your own set of rims, do you swap the tires yourself or take it somewhere?

take them to someone. cost is $25-30 cash (set of 4) straight swap for most shops. No balancing. If you look & search hard enough, you will find shops that will do the same for $20 cash

Valid point. I like the Elbrus I08, currently out of stock at tirerack, were on sale for $79, what a steal!!

if i understand correctly bobblehead said canadians have the TPMS programed into the ABS system so we dont need the TPMS

The proof is if you see a metal (grey color) valve stem on your wheel, then it has tpms installed inside the wheel, if you see regular yellow valve stem, then no tpms inside the wheel.

US cars still use the tpms inside the wheel as mandated by US government. The con is obviously cost more and the tpms + the tpms receiver often fail, thus costing more $ to fix if without warranty

that's right. No TPMS required to be mounted inside the wheel. That's ancient technology.

Check Ottawa tires direct on Scott near Parkdale. it's mostly an online shop but you can pick your tires at their location. They also do install. The physical place looks like crap, and they like to deal in cash, but their prices are pretty good and they normally receive your order within a week.

I think it will come down to Michelin Xice 3 or Bridgestone WS70... i'm not very familiar with tires... not sure which would be best for winter.

Hey guys, we are running an excellent special on 17" F30 winter tire package.

A set of 4 225/50-17 Yokohama W.Drive (98V) installed and balanced on 17x8 RW.Mesh for $1600 shipped + tax or $1500 picked up(Montreal) + tax.

As of right now, we have a very good amount of these in stock but they are selling quick as this setup is also good for the newer Audi A4's. Send me a PM if you have any questions or if you'd like to order!

I just got a quote on Winter rims and tires here in Toronto that seemed decent.

Blizzak tires installed for $ 209.95/each + tax
Replika Rims for $ 150.00/each + tax
http://www.replika.ca/productinfo.as...fn=black&dm=17

@ Auto Guyz Tire And Automotive

They recommended i get the 225/50R17's for my 2012 BMW 328i Sportline Sedan.

Thoughts ?
