Preview of the new 3 Series Gran Turismo 25/1

I see WhatCar? are hosting a preview day on Friday 25th January of the new 3 Series Gran Turismo and are inviting readers along
http://www.whatcar.com/car-news/prev...turismo/264817

Only thing that puts me off is that they create a video the readers giving their comments.

You need to email them if you are interested.

Garage List
Preview the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo - say "Why you’re interested in previewing the new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo"

...to see if it's as ugly in the flesh as it is in the pictures.

Sorry, but the F34 looks lard-arsed to me and that side vent is just a cheesey gimmick on that car. Don't get it at all.

(Based on this being the real thing).

Agreed, the GT cars are ugly as sin. I don't see many 5 GT's around as most drivers either have Saloon or the Touring. When I was ordering my F31 I saw a couple nosing around one.....I so want to say something. Anyway each to their own.

I think the 5 GT is rather lush

I agree it's an acquired taste but with the right colour and wheels I think they're a very imposing car.

I seriously considered a 530d SE GT before plumping for the F30 because at the time they were heavily discounted on contract hire by BMW. (They're now about £200 plus VAT per month more.) Once I'd added everything on to the F30 there was a pound in it per month. Everything comes standard on the GT. Plus a panoramic roof I believe.

I had a play in one in the showroom and really liked it. Massive. Pillar-less doors too

The 3 or the 5? I think for the 5 it's a market that doesn't really exist in the UK. Apart from me of course.

I read somewhere about there being a certain snobbery re: 'executive' hatchbacks in Germany. Hence the slightly bizarre and totally over-engineered split tailgate on the 5GT. Don't know how true that is though. Maybe it's the same thinking behind the 3GT?

May sound odd to some but it looks like a very expensive car. Obviously that's what it is but at work I have to take into account how a car is perceived. The F30 is no shrinking violet but it's no 5GT either. Prior to getting my E91 I cancelled an order for an F10 for precisely the same reason.
