Any 2012 owners updated their Nav maps yet?

I'm curious as to who's done this. I think new maps are released in December, so in my case there's potentially two revisions to the map data since my F30 joined the stable in August '12.

I've heard it costs more than a new smart phone to have it done at the dealership, and that's it's not updated as a part of the service. On a side note, a lady I work with bought a Mazda CX-5 last month and I noticed that he can download map nav updates at no cost.

My folks did it on their 5 series and the dealership charged them $500
