Thanks! To get an idea of how long you will wait once it hits port, ask your CA to ensure your order is a "Priority Status 1". If you are, it is typically within 3 days of hitting the port that it is at the dealer - if not, it could be 5-7 days after hitting port.

Just found out my car is on the Michigan Highway! So relieved after hearing the 1-800 BMW witch tell me for a month it was being transported to port.

High Probability the CA, as the Michigan Highway is not a W&W Ship. K-Line, no tracking.

The military sales rep emailed me (I don't have a CA). Michigan Highway is a K-Line ship so it doesn't show up on the W&W website. I don't think it's normal, but in my case, the 800# and BMWUSA website were lagging about 5 days from actual. Hopefully some of you other guys waiting on ships will be pleasantly surprised as well, and catch an earlier ship than you thought.

I must have fallen under a lucky star!!!

Car arrived at the dealer last night (the day after going through the VDC)!! All of the extra's (polyshield, 3M Bra) are being done today and I am picking her up tomorrow at 4pm! So excited I think I just got a Bremheraven woody!

FYI - good checklist for delivery - your options may vary

BMW Deliver Checklist

1. Exterior: Check for physical damage and paint consistency for,
a. Bumpers
b. Doors (inside and out)
c. Trunk (inside and out), does it stay up on its own?
d. Roof
e. Hood (inside and out), does it stay up on its own?
f. Rims/Tires. 18inch? Summer Performance Tires or all season?
g. Headlights/taillights
h. Roundel securely affixed
i. Make sure no front license plate/front license plate if needed in your state, no dealership ads of any kind
j. Correct grill (no-line, Modern, Luxury, Sprot, MSport)
k. Please take pictures of the car at least at all four different sides

2. Interior:
a. Correct color/textured (leather/leatherette) seats
b. Correct Steering wheel
c. Look identical to the picture you have from website/brouchure?
d. Seat belts working?
e. Given two key fobs?
f. If you don't have rubber floor mats, please ask the dealer for them

3. Lighting
a. Xenon headlights working? (white lights)
b. High beams
c. Brake lights
d. Reverse lights
e. Turn signal lights
f. Interior lights
g. Adaptive light control that comes with the lighting package
h. [Important] Do I have daytime running lights? Can I get the angel eyes to function as my daytime running lights?

4. Functionality

a. Basic
i. Make sure the VIN matches
ii. Make sure the options match the Vehicle Inquiry Report
iii. Engine Start/Stop button
iv. Door lock/unlock with key fob
v. Power window working correctly on all four windows?
vi. AC working?
vii. Heater working?
viii. Quickly check all seat belts. Just make sure you can pull on them.
ix. Check tire pressure

i. Keyless entry with key fob in the pocket
ii. Opening the trunk with your foot without using key fob
iii. Moonroof function correctly?
iv. Lumbar support for M/sports seats. Make sure they are sports (bucket) seats.

ii. Head-up Display: can you see the numbers? Change brightness settings?
iii. Bluetooth music streaming using your phone
iv. Real time traffic information: displayed properly on NAV screen?
v. BMW apps: where and how do I download? Available on Android?

d. Dynamic Handling Package
i. Adaptive M Suspension (please check during test drive in different modes)
ii. Variable Sport Steering

e. Driver Assistance Package
i. Rear-view camera
ii. Parking Distance Control
iii. Side and top view cameras
iv. Active blind sport detection

f. Sports Automatic Transmission with Shift Paddles
i. Do I have paddle shifters?

g. Harmon Kardon Surround Sound
i. All 16 speakers present and working?
ii. Can you control the volume from the buttons on the steering wheel?

h. Anti-Theft Alarm
i. Working?

i. Present and working?
ii. How is the sound?

j. Lighting Package
i. See above in 3. Lighting
ii. Xenon head lights
iii. Adaptive light control

5. Mileage: Does it have low mileage? It wasn't used as a demo car, was it? Should be less than 10 miles if ordered

6. Test drive at least 10 minutes
a. BEFORE YOU START DRIVING, make sure you don't have SHIPPING BLOCKS, wheel locks and no emergency break is on. Check front and rear shocks to make sure no shipping blocks still present.
b. Check under the hood to make sure all the wires hoses are secured.
c. All fluids at the right level?
d. No leaks?
e. Use the navigation to set up a destination before driving somewhere
f. Check Navi is working properly
g. Real time traffic info?
h. Rear view Camera working when backing up the car?
i. Top view and side view cameras shown on screen?
j. Ensure smooth drive
k. No strange noise?
l. Alignment is straight?
m. Performance exhaust sound good?
n. Paddle shifters working properly?
o. No steering wheel vibration between 40 – 60 mph?
p. Different modes produce significantly different driving dynamics?
q. Suspension stiffness changes with different modes?
r. Cruise control?
s. HUD display correct speed and directions that NAVI is showing?
t. Able to U turn without any loud noise?
u. After the test drive, check under the hood again to check for any leaks

7. Ask the dealer
a. Has there been any port damage that has been repaired?
b. Can I please get black rubber mats?

Is this the official OCD checklist? I think many a CA's will look at you like you need psychiatric attention if you show up with a list this long over things so trivial like "Is the roundel securely affixed." I mean come on, if it falls off and you go back to the Dealership they will take care of you for a roundel.

Depending on the amount of time some have waited, along with the different patience thresholds, I can see the checklist going something like this:
1. Exterior correct color-check
2. Interior correct color-check
3. It runs-check
4. SEE YA!!!

Note: Items 1 and 2 may be optional for some also!
