I use a HTPC and stream my live TV and recordings to other Tv's in the house over my network. I have been having trouble with bandwidth internally and I am thinking that the torrents could be part of the problem. No other good explanations are coming to mind. I wish I had FIOS though, unrelated but great stuff....

I think maybe the N20 motor came with ASD to mask the truck sound, but was turn off accidentally Maybe ykau can change the settings to M5 or M6, then instead of truck, he'll get vrrrrrooooom

Since a few days my usb music streaming with iphone 4s stopped working.

I always use the white usb cable, i also dont get a V in the media menu where you can see if the phone is connected.

This always used to work, i didnt code it.

The bluetooth streaming still works.

I did code the connected drive and internet. Could this have to do something with the usb connection?

P.S. Think twice before you convert 6NH to 6NK, may risk failure cic update from dealer.
My Idrive software is 2.48.3. Now which version will I need?

+ 6AL
+ 6AB (Required but already present)

VO CODE HU_CIC
VO CODE CMB_MEDIA

FDL CODE CMB_MEDIA:
Use modified VO with VIN that has factory options 614 and 615 as explained in my post here:

Quote:
For writing a VIN to the Combox in E-Sys, I figured that out, and it is very simple:

So simple in fact, that I am mad I spent so much damn time in Tool32, CMEDIA.prg and E-Sys trying to figure it out.

First you must code CMB_MEDIA / TELEMATIK_VIN = Coding VIN using your real FA VIN. Then, open your FA up in the FA-Editor, change the VIN, Caluclate FP just to make sure there are no problems with it, and then save the FA with a new name, i.e. FA_VIN_FAKE. Lastly, go to the coding module, and under Vehicle Order load your new FA_VIN_FAKE, activate FA, and then FDL code CMB_MEDIA. Lastly, read CMB_MEDIA coding data, and verify the new VIN in brackets. In the attached picture, you can see my Combox and Head Unit are showing two different VIN's.

Afterwards, either shut down E-Sys, or load your original FA back and activate it before coding anything else. DO NOT code anything else with this FA, and DO NOT write this FA to the car.

For Internet and BMW Live to work, you need a VIN with factory options 614 and 615.

Read CMB_MEDIA and verify Short VIN in brackets [xxxxxxx] is FAKE VIN.

*** Use only to FDL Code CMB_MEDIA; DO NOT write this FA to the Car

1) Enable Data Transfer Option Under Phone
2) Enable Bluetooth Data Tethering on Phone
3) Under Connected drive; Update services (should show BMW Live and Internet services)
4) Go to BMW Live and Internet and make sure it it working

After it is working, use original VO with car VIN:

FDL CODE CMB_MEDIA:
- TELEMATIK_VIN = MOST_VIN

Read CMB_MEDIA and verify Short VIN in brackets [xxxxxxx] is REAL VIN.

DO NOT update services again or you will loose BMW Live and Internet.

*** If you do not return the Combox VIN to car VIN, you will encounter problems with future dealer programming, as the Combox will not be recognized, and programming will hault.
Hi Shawn - how do I activate the above in my car which does not have 614 or 615 - has only 6NH and Prof Nav? Which VIN can I use in my car?

I have a F20 with standard steering, is there any way I can code my car to have servotronic steering? I think this is more a software thing while the variable sporting steering is hardware thing which cannot be coded for sure.

that password is to install 3.18.4, if you're trying to do FDL code, you need to have the codeaway.est file, and have esys pointing to this file in the preferences, password is 2690

Never tried before, but have you tried searching in EPS module? that seems to be only one steering related.

Shawn mentioned using BMWvin.com and a bit of luck to get the VIN, start with a few number off from your VIN hopefully, you'll nail one

You can start with this: F09XXXX (replace XXXX with 4 random digit)

You are in India right? I assume BMW doesn't offer BMW Assist in your country? In that case, you don't need a ghost vin. Ghost vin is really only valid for US (and maybe Canadian vehicle) as their data is via the inbuilt data plan (car), not via telephone like the rest of the world.
