Pulling Out of Storage (3-4 years)

Hey guys,

I'm pulling my car out of storage after roughly 3-4 years. It was stored at a friend's shop - so they moved it in between garages or on the lift at least a few times per month (to my knowledge)

Hoping to get guidance on what else I'll need to do to get car prepped for daily use.

Change: oil, power steering, tranny fluid, gas
Replace cabin filter
Replace battery

Thanks in advance!

Brake fluid, should be done every 2 years. 3-4 it may have damaged some of your brake components. I'm assuming you'll be fine but I would 100% change it and inspect your braking components.

If the battery was disconnected it should still be OK. The transmission fluid should be fine. There is no power steering fluid, it's electric. The brake fluid may be good too, you can test it with one of these:

The gas would be OK if you used a fuel stabilizer.

Long storage time! But like Billfitz said, it should all be fine. Or if you are anal like me and like maintaining your vehicles to get to know them and make you fell better. Change it all

Check your tires. 3-4 years isnt too bad, but 5-6 years is about the life expectancy of a tire. They might not perform as well as new.

+1
Check the date of manufacture code on the tires. Also, depending on how it was stored, they might also have flat spots.
