Labor cost for installing lowering springs

Hi guys,
I would like to get a set of H&R super sport springs installed on my 2014 335i xDrive. I talked to the dealer about it and I was told the job would take nearly 10 hours. The total for label is around $1200.
I would like to know if there is any good BMW mechanics in the Chicago/Naperville area who would install these springs at a reasonable price? Thanks for any input!!

That's correct! That is why I ran away as soon as I heard that from them.

I agree with the above post. I just did this myself this past weekend and its ridiculously easy. If you can change your brakes, you can install the springs. You definitely want to have a couple spring compressors as that's the only part that had me a little irritated (only that i had to go get a different spring compressor).

I got those same $1000+ quotes from some bmw shops and the dealer LOL
One BMW shop laugh and told me good luck with that after I told him the install shouldn't take 8-10 hours and it's usually in the 300-400 bucks range. Eventually I found a decent shop for 300 bucks with alignment.

BMW service depts are rip off artists. My indy mechanic lowered mine for $250. BMW also wanted over $1000 to install my M Performance brakes. Once again, my mechanic did it for $300. My advice is find a good dependable independent mechanic. Stay out of the dealers shop.

I had an Indy shop near me install my Dinan springs for around $300 with an alignment. I would also suggest replacing your end links at the same time to shorter ones to bring back your front sway bar to it's stock position if you don't plan on replacing that as well. It will help cut down with over steer.

I am looking for a good indy shop at the moment. It is not easy to find a shop with BMW experience and offer a reason price.

BTW, those rims look great! I would like to get a set of the RFX5 for my ride as well.

Had mine done by a buddy, took him like 2.5 hrs and charged me $150. Also Out of topic, can you post your wheel and tire specs, those look sick.

Hey just a quick question as I had my brakes installed just like yours last week. Are you getting any kind of rubbing sound from the front brakes when you drive? At low speed you can't hear it but as you accelerate you start to hear a sound, almost like the pad is catching against the slots in the rotors or something.

I'm not getting any rubbing sounds. Only brake dust and some squealing when stopping, but that's normal with the Mperf brakes

Thanks yeah im getting a soft rubbing sound. Gets louder as you accelerate. I'm going to follow up with my mechanic tomorrow. It doesn't look like anything is rubbing...
