£1400 is very expensive unless you are in a very high risk location
I pay £290 with Aviva - 40s, full NCD, 15k miles, rural England. It’s actually a 2 car policy for just under £500, and they don’t break it down, so £290 is an estimate based on what I was paying before I added a second car. Aviva also have a driving app - if you can behave for 200 miles, you should be able to get a substantial discount on their first price. |

You've gone from a 218bhp 2.0 litre 'luxury' saloon to a 313bhp 3.0 litre 'sporty' saloon, and you're surprised at the premium going up a lot ?

Direct Line, Churchill and Privilege are all part of the same group but have different scorecards. Try all three for the best quote.
I have been with these brands (in the order detailed above) for as long as I care to remember. When I was your age Churchill worked out best for me but as an old fart Privilege have provided the cheapest premiums for the last ten years or so,

I went from a 1.2 litre engine to a 440i and my insurance increase was nowhere near that amount. OP - I use Aviva, have a multi car policy with them for 2 cars at £550, which includes a slight increase for the MPPSK. Have 10 years no claims like yourself. |

I've just recently got a 335dx MS and my insurance went up £258 coming from a 520d MS. Initially paid £540 with Tesco in March for the 520.
I looked at a 12 month policy for the 335 and it was coming in around £950/1000. I'm 31 with 10+ ncb (no accidents/convictions and protected ncb)

at my renewal in August, the premium also doubled - lots of shopping around to get the price down. At the ripe age of 48, i thought i was past all that insurance mallarky.....
LV came through in the end. |

OP, you could try APlan brokers. We've used them for 4 years now on our 335d and not had any major price rises. Their policy with Ageas is ideal especially if your car is modified or going to be.
