Hah, I've just sold my Boxster too. Change in circumstances warranted that. Loved the noise and the drive. Wanted open air motoring with a bit of pace and a hard top. We'll see how it works out. Still leaning toward the extra £15k for the M4

Broke my heart selling mine! I use to run a company car and had the Boxster for the weekend. Change of job and decided to take a car allowance and run my own car. Seemed mad running and insuring 2 cars and the Boxster would get used less and less being just a two seater and there being three of us now.

One thing I struggled with was the size of the 4 when I first got it felt massive!

Good luck with the search

For that price range you can get some nice jag f types, boxters, early amv8s, massaratis etc but if it's a hard top convertible you want I think the m4 will be hard to beat.

I wanted a convertible. Found another that suited in Colchester with brilliant spec and cheaper. Was just a bit older than I wanted. Arranged to drive a 430d at another local dealer.

That was a mistake.

It was in superb nick, brilliantly specced, fast ,quiet and economical. And stupidly practical. The head unfortunately ruled the heart..

And I bought the bloody thing FFS.

Estoril Blue, Oyster, M plus pack, black M sport alloys, through load, convertible pack. Only options that I wanted that were missing were HBA and HUD.

Still it saved me £15k and was registered in Feb '17 so VED is £150 instead of £450 and it does 45 instead of 25 mpg. It's also remarkably supple suspension wise.

Good news! Did you make sure the wind deflector was behind the rear seats?

Mine was missing and had to be replaced.

It’s a great car and good package in the fact that it ticks so many boxes.

When you collecting?

Wind deflector is there. Dealer was 60 miles away, but he had an errand to do, so brought the car down and I met him half way. Did the dealing in the car park, he followed me home and drove both of us back to the dealership, I coughed up and drove the car home. Sitting at 80 most of the way home and 45mpg...

I know I should have bought the M4, but the sums just didn't add up

Sounds excellent! Handy that it was registered before the tax increase.

If your after more power and don’t want to remap I can highly recommend a dtuk tuning box. Makes a huge difference to performance. I’ve ran one for around 8k and had no issues.

For what it's worth, I have both HBA and HUD on my 30d. The HUD is nice to have, but never a deal breaker. I don't have folding mirrors, and would much rather have those!!

Enjoy the car - the 30d is deceptively quick and really comes alive with a remap
