135i is a really fun car, especially with the 6MT.
A 328i is obviously much more practical and feels an entire segment bigger. But still not huge. One thing to keep in mind: the 135i chassis is now about 8 years old. So the instrument panel, interior design, etc. are starting to look rather dated. Especially in comparison to the hi-tech of the 328i. |

I currently have a 128i and among the various things I don't like about it is the interior that looks a lot like the one I had in my e46 2001 330i. I like the 07 e92 335i coupe I had prior to the 128i a lot better.

I have both. Both are great. Ive tracked the 328i non sport already and it was plenty fast and handled decent on rfts. Gonna autox it this sunday with proper tires this time - the difference is amazing even on the street.
The damn m2 or m235 better be out for sure when my lease for the f30 is up though. |

The only car that had me seriously think about getting rid of 335i (E92, though, not F30) was a loaner 128i. With AT. So, I really don't want to know what 135i MT feels like. I want to keep this car for a while, at least 3 more years so no test drives in a 135i MT for me.
I noticed you have Mini as a current car, this should really be a no-brainer for a single guy that currently drives Mini. 135i all the way and then some ...

To the OP: Wait a few more heartbeats, then get the 335i. All, or nothing. That simple.

Without opening a can of worms....I would take the 135 over a 4cyl. I WILL ADMIT!!! that I have NOT driven the the 328. I wanted the 135, my wife said no so we got a 335 m-sport. I would say get the 135. Good luck

Take 135, unless you dont care about such a thing as status. 3 series look much more serious and mature and angrier styled.
It handles pretty well on M-adaptive suspension (worse than 135 ofc), yet its much more comfortable. 328xi stock launched with pedals will be faster than golf R stage1 DSG-launched from start to about 80-100 km/h, so it will be versus 135. 328xi vs 335xi will be going half body length behind it till about 120-130 km/h. After that, 335 of course will get away pretty quickly, but who cares ? How often do you drive your car over 120-130 km/h racing somebody ? Belive me , me and my friends measured all the races above. There was the answer for me - with my 135 i had crazy drive every trip i went and after i moved to 328xi i made...wise choice shall we say ? its not that crazy, yet fast , comfortable and well-handled car. Of course 135 with DCT or 6MT can go off the trafic light with nice, long wheels slipping producing some smoke in summer time, going side ways in every corner and so on, but that is what i was talking about saying the word "mature".

I did and I am puzzled how people easily renegate one of the best 3-series characteristic and it is about visceral sound experience which accounts for 50% of the BMW's driving experience. The N20 is a lost cause.

Congrats to the OP!
When I first heard about M135i I also thought, feck, it's ugly as hell but I WANT this more than I want 328i M Sport. Alas, M135i manual is full 10 grand more here in Finland (before options) than a 328i M Sport (before other options). That's to say M135i is about the same money as a bog standard 335i, just shy of 60'000 €. I think it's a bit steep for an ugly duckling, even if it has a heart of gold. |
