Also matched all the build options from BMWVin.com, and it looks like my CA did an awesome job!
BMW of Ridgefield in Connecticut. Awesome awesome people so far. HIGHLY recommend them. AND, they beat EVERY other dealers price, including the New Jersey ones, and have provided me with spectacular hassle-free service up to this point. I pick up my car next week, so if anyone has any specific questions, feel free to PM me. In the mean time, I will post updates in case the screw anything up (not to be expected - they have been top notch thus far). My CA had a German allocation, and built my car in 10 minutes while I chatted with my wife. I left that day with a build order confirmation, German production number, and a large helping of peace of mind. |

Asked dealer to program A.S.S. last setting memory pre-delivery, no problem. They did not give me a hard time about it, unlike some stories circulating this forum.

So I'm thinking my e90 will sell tomorrow , and I will have a week or 2 until I can pick up my f30.
I want to get the full experience. I want to 'flush' all the BMW out of my system, so to speak. I don't want the f30 to be an upgrade from the e90. I want it to be a first BMW experience all over again. I want to get that same feeling from the f30 as I did when I first drove my e46. I want to get blown away again. So anyway, long story short, I went to Enterprise.com, and rented the cheapest car I could find for the week. Should be sweet. . |

Which reminds me, I will never EVER list a car on an enthusiast forum again. Wow. The buying crowd here seems to want to get a steal, not a deal. I get PM's all the time asking if I will sell it for KBB trade-in value. WOW! Word of advice, if you want a KBB car, you go look for it on the KBB listings. Not all cars will judged by the KBB value. A nicely modded, well maintained enthusiast's car with a few thousand $$$ worth of add-ons is not exactly your KBB car.
There are currently 2 people from Craigslist pretty much fighting over this car. I dropped the price to $13,500 for this weekend only, just to be able to move it in time for my f30. Well, they both over-bid over each other and drove the price back up again to $14k (compared to $10k and $11k I was getting here). Will see tomorrow. Even eBay bidders, placed bids as high as $13,900 last week, when the car was priced at $14,900. In my experience, enthusiast forum buyers - I would have really liked to see this car go to an enthusiast from the boards. Disappointing. |

On a positive note, looks like my f30 took a short 6 weeks from production order number to the Turnadot docking at the NJ port.
I don't think it should be more than a day or 2 until Ridgefield has it, and then another couple of days for them to do their pre-delivery inspection, programming and all that good stuff. |

Drove in to the dealership the other day to get the paper work started in anticipation of my car arriving any day now. While there, I got my first chance ever to see an Estoril Blue in person. WOW! It is SO much better than the pictures.

Now, my current rental is interesting. As some of you know, I asked for the smallest possible car they could find me at Enterprise. Normally, I was expecting something crappy. Like reaaally basic, full of problems, underpowered and what not.
What I got was a fun, quirky little thing that is packed with technology. $15,000, you really can not go wrong with this car. Here are some highlights: 2013 Chevy Spark MPG: 40 hwy, 35 city, 38 combined Bluetooth integration Touch screen media interface USB port Although the seats are uncomfortable, the ride is impressively nice and firm in this car (in a good way.) Plenty of get-up-and-go in first and second gear. No problems with low speeds. I'd hate to say it, but I really really am looking forward to driving this car in the morning. It is a lot of fun to be in a "small" car again. Only now do I realize how much bigger our 3 series are getting. I'm almost sure at this point my next car (well, next one after this) will be a 1 or 2 series. If you can have this much fun with $15,000 and a 1.2 liter, 85 HP little thing ... the Chevy Spark makes me wonder if I overpaid for my BMW. |
