don't let the dealer fool you. I admit they got me the first time until I realized that it could be detached and reused. Its just a mounting bracket with an optical sensor for the main component. In the end, it just needs to be re-calibrated to the new windshield.
never again will I trust the dealer saying it simply doesn't work or won't transfer

Anytime we get a trade with a cracked windshield it costs almost a grand to replace due to rain sensor. I hate, hate getting a car with cracked window. Luckily in Florida, insurance will take care of so we try and get client to take care of prior to trading due to this crazy cost. But really sucks if I get an auction car with one.
So, NO this isnt exactly BS. |

I just had my windshield changed in my F30..... No new sensors and does not need to be recalibrate do at all...
I had the insurance pay for a factory Windshield since I have a 500 , after the install I went out and checked everything, lane departure, heads up display, rain sensors and heads up collision warning and everything works just fine.. |
