3 Series GT "Aspirational Luxury Car"

AutoPacific awarded the 3GT this year's "much coveted" Aspirational Luxury Car award: http://www.autopacific.com/vehicle-satisfaction-awards

I know. Last year it was the Hyundai Genesis, the year before the M-B C Class. I'm not sure why the category, but I'm sure somewhere at BMW headquarters, someone is celebrating. I'm just not sure what "Aspirational Luxury Car" means. Now, the RR Wraith, that is a luxury car to aspire to.

lol...Yeah "Aspirational Luxury Car" has mixed connotations at best. The fact the Genesis has won it four of the last six years might indicate any "celebration" in Munich isn't going to be "that" momentous...I think they'd prefer higher GT sales to taking the "Aspirational Luxury Car" crown from Hyundai.

Just echoing what others have said. To me, the F30 (320i or 320d) and its competitors would fit this category much better. The F34's high price (relative to the aforementioned models) and its wagon queen family truckster qualities make it a vehicle that one purchases in its own right, not as a first step on the luxury car ladder.

I have a suspicion that they just really like the car, so they went searching for a category.
