Some Night Shots

My wife is just getting into photography so she wanted to take some night shots on new years day. Went to a mall parking structure and saw this sick e30 so i made her take some photos next to it. anyway let me know what you guys think she use a canon rebel with a wide angle lens. She has not really started doing photo editing yet.

Cool cars.

One tip though, don't let the car fill the whole frame of the pic, leave some more space around the car and frame.

Nice car and photos!

But as remmib says, don't use such a tight crop. Step back and compose some more and try to use as much DOF as you can. It makes the motive "pop" even more instead of the usual point-and-shoot feel you get with infinite DOF.

Too me, it is what makes or breaks the picture.
Take a look at this quick "guide" by Canon. Start to master this and your images will look better straight away.

Shallow DOF doesn't make a great photo. It's about composition, weight contrast, subject/content, among other things. A wide angle lens has a deeper DOF so more things will be in focus. A great photographer can take amazing photos without using shallow DOF. Sure shallow DOF is dramatic but when used as a crutch, is utterly cheesy.

Those photos your wife took have the wrong color temperature so they turned out too cool and pinkish.

Nice pics. It is a good start for your wife. I am into photography too, and you can ask let me know if you have any questions regarding with your Camera or photo editing. I will see if I can help you out. I am an Amateur photographer too, and I am using a 5D MarkII for pics and Lightroom for editing.

Nano,

Looks great. My EB M-Sport is due in Port Hueneme on 01/09. I've got to make some wheel and tire decisions. I think you have a 32 offset in the rears. Did you drop you ever drop your car?

I have done eibach springs on my last 2 cars. I had prokit and koni on my previous e90. I like the reduced body roll and look of lowered ride. I have never had such an aggressive wheel setup as I do on my f30 so I am not sure yet for this one.

I'm buying the M5 reps: 19"x8.5"F 35 offset and 19"c9.5"R 38 offset. I'm going the Michelin PSS, as well, but probably 40's in front and 35's in the rear. The sizes are 19/235/40 F and 10/265/35 R. I think I read you have 30's in the back. I know my set-up will fit and not rub, others have the same set-up. But I'm wondering if I can drop my car. That's my issue.

I don't want to mess with the ride and make it too harsh. That's why I'm leaning towards 35's in the back. The Michelins have substantial shoulders. Plus, I ordered the adaptive suspension and I don't want to over-stress it with too thin a tire and dropping the car too much.

I guess I'll just slap on the tires and wheels and see how much I can drop the car.

Somebody correct me if I wrong because I'm new at this but the individuals that have done over 30 mm drop have mostly gone with 35 front and 30 rear to avoid the rubbing. I am considering going with 40 front and 35 rear because I want to do m performance suspension which is only 10mm drop to keep ride quality. I was pretty impressed with shivaswrath's review and if for any reason my ride is not to my expectations its on BMW.

I'm not an expert either, but looks like you would rub if you dropped your car as is. But serious, I'm not a good person to trust on this. From what I've read, most guys are on 35 front's and 30 rears for the M5 reps I'm buying. And you may consider 255's for the rears instead of 265's.

A lot of guys that have 19"x9.5" M5 reps in back have a 38 offset. Since I'm getting the same tires as you with the 19" wheels, I was curious about your wheel gap.
