I run 38 psi (cold tyre measurements) on all four wheels (19" rims). Also run 38 psi on all four wheels on the Cooper S. Both cars are fitted with run-flats.
With those pressures I have not noticed any harshness in ride in Comfort Mode, and even in Sport Mode the ride is firm but still smooth.

19" wheels tyre pressures
On my X1 with 19" wheels, it states the front pressure should be 37psi and the rear tyre 41psi.
Strangely, they are different size tyres - as fitted by BMW! 225/40 for the front and 255/35 for the rear. |

19" M sport wheel tyre pressure
Hi All,
Just got my new car (demo) 2 weeks ago, I have the M sport pack with the 19s, and have read this thread and tried the tyre pressure of 38psi at the front and 40psi at the back (cold). Normally have 3 passenger in the car (1 front and 2 back). Feel quite comfortable at these pressures, and I had used to have 40psi all around in my old A4 (not staggered and they are non RFTs). Should I go 40psi at the front? I don't want it to be too bumpy.. Any advice will be appreciated! Cheers Ed |

I'm running 35 front and 37 rear with bridgestone RE050a RFT and 19inch m-sport wheels.
With 2 psi different between front and rear feels better when cornering, the front feels more planted.

Thanks SilverZ. For 35 front and 37 back, does it give you good tyre life? I have the stock BS Pont s01
Thanks Bcoz - I have read the door's label, and it seems to suggest a much lower pressure. Even lower than when I got my car from the dealer. |

Yeah the factory will always recommend less PSI for a more comfortable and supple ride. Ideally you will want 36PSI front and 38PSI rear. If you are carrying a bit more load then bump them both up by 2 psi.

Tyre Pressures
Don't take any notice what the tyre pressures are when you pick up a new car as when I checked mine cold the morning after taking delivery every tyre was different ranging from 32psi FR to 40psi LR. I let the dealer know quick smart. Not happy!
