M Performance Rocker Panel Films

Hi everyone, I am ordering accessories for my new 335i that I just ordered. I have a question about a part. First of all, I am getting the M Front Splitter, Matte Black Spoiler, Matte Grills and probably the M Rear Diffuser. However, there are two different parts I can see for the rocker panels.

51192291407 - Aerodynamics Pack, rocker panel, left (5)
51192291404 - Aerodynamics Pack, rocker panel, right (5)
51192240983 - Film strip for rocker panel (6)

The question is, can we use the film strip without the other rocker panels? The film strips seems to be a complete assembly, made out of thick vinyl. Or are the aero rocker panels necessary? Here you can see an illustration:

Apparently the rocker panels go UNDER the default side panels right? Does it make any difference in aerodynamics?

You don't need the rocker panels, the film goes on first anyhow. You can just put the film on and you are done. The film and panels are independent components, you can just have one of them (either one) installed without the other.

Thank you. I ordered the films for the looks. I am wondering if the rocker panels actually make any difference aerodynamically?
