I'm writing all these contact names, waiting on a response from the Local Sales Manager...as the salesman I spoke w/ told me they might drop 500 off MSRP...in a few months. I said "hmm, interesting" |

Look for other BMW dealers in the ~4hour distance. They maybe the only game in town, but they aren't the only one in the country. If you have to drive 2-4 hours to another dealer, do it and let them know they lost a sale.

Don't worry, I'm already on that. I'll fly to Georgia South if I have to...(I know a clear bra guy in Atlanta, so I'm seriously considering doing that trip anyway). I've driven the 4.5hrs each way a few times to buy cars in Dallas/Ft. Worth...(I live in the middle of nowhere) |

I talked to a friend of mine who is a car salesman and he told me the invoice isn't the actual invoice price. The actual price is hidden on the invoice because by law if u ask for the invoice they must give it to u.

I too have been told something similar. It's really semantics. Invoice is a number, it used to be what the car cost the dealer to buy...but no longer is this the case many times. Usually it's a few K less...which just shows you how hard you are taking it if you pay MSRP. (this is all second hand knowledge, so I'm sure there's a little exaggeration somewhere).

The dealer usually has a 5 percent hold back below invoice. This can include incentives from BMW and so forth. I'm going in today to do battle. Wish me luck!

So how do you find out the invoice without asking the dealership?
Edmunds?

There is a little confusion in this thread I think based on terminology. Your BMW dealer is paying BMW the invoice price for the car. Now aside from that BMW pays the dealer a "holdback" bonus based on meeting certain performance metrics. Additionally, there can be per car cash back to the dealer from BMW for a car they (BMW) wants to promote or move off the lots.
