Deezer or Napster
I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my 335D, it has online entertainment, i believe it comes with 1yr with either of these 2. I have never used a streaming program before, and wandered what everyone else was using, and maybe why they chose which over the other?

Deezer works well and you have access to the service on the iphone app. Also works on Google Home too from the BMW subscription.

I use Deezer all the time in my F30 330d and is fine. You can also search for artists and songs from the iDrive. On Spotify I wasn't able to do this.

You can use voice search on deezer or create playlists on your pc or phone and then you can access those playlists from idrive.
Works really well and have downloaded several hundred tracks so far all of which are stored on the car so no need to stream. Only annoying thing seems to be getting rid of things off the car once you have downloaded it (delete seems to be one track at a time unless anyone knows a better way) |

Neither - Spotify is infinitely better and also integrates well with iDrive.

Yes but i get free 12 months with the other two and not Spotify + as far as i was aware, you have to plug your phone in, then load up up the bmw connected app, then go to connected drive, then to the spotify app to be able to use spotify, seems too much of a hassle tbh

Plug your phone in - I do this every time to keep it charged and open Spotify on the phone. Hats it. You don't need to go into BMW Connected etc. So not 100% integrated but Spotify is in a different league compared to Deezer for selection.

I've used napster and find it really good, especially with being able to use it on my Sonos system too.
On a slightly related note, I've recently ordered a 335d shadow edition and want to be able to use spotify without plugging my iPhone in. I was told I'd be able to do so (even though haven't specced EBT). Anyone know if that is correct? |

Couple of questions if you don't mind - how quick is it? If I think of a song whilst driving along can it be played straight away or is there a download lag? - I've seen references to being able to use your account in the home on a PC. Would this then automatically sync in the car? - presumably downloads to the car hard disk get auto deleted after a while? TIA

From a napster user perspective:
Speed of downloading new tracks depends on the mobile reception - only a few seconds lag when in a 3G area. It doesn't download the whole song before you start listening. Can use my OE napster account on any device but the only thing it syncs is playlists Don't think they get deleted but I'm not sure what happens when the hard drive is full. Deleting tracks is a nightmare - 1 by 1! Hope this helps |

Inconvenience, i don't need top ups with m phone, usually go to bed with around 60% battery life anyway. I don't like having wires around the car, rather have a nice clean look.
I wouldnt read txt messages etc while i drive anyway for obvious reasons and if someone rings it comes through the car. More of a get in the car and drive kinda guy, then start fiddling around with wires etc. |
