Decent wheels at last and a good deal too!

At last got a set of decent wheels for the motor. A big shout out to teaston who advised to speak directly to the stealers, I had already tried to contact Peter Vardy through their eBay site but got no response but after teaston gave me a kick up the arse I emailed them.....and so got a set of new (delivery mile) 704’s with potenza’s, tpms, caps and fitted for £900.

Well chuffed, what a difference! Will have the 400m’s up for sale in the not so distant future. Maybe get a wee photie tomorrow as it’s meant to be half decent weather.

Wow £900! That's a mega deal!

Might as well buy a set of them and sell your old wheels every time your tyres need changing!!

Haha, too right. Just couldn’t say no to that deal. I asked if they had any warranty too (not expecting any at all given they are technically second hand) and he said yeh about 6 months or so but not had any complaints about the 704’s yet. Well chuffed, cheers for pushing me in that direction

No problem. I bet Peter Vardy's parts dept phone will be ringing off the hook tomorrow when everyone reads this thread!

Keep the 400Ms and use them for a winter set up. Better driving for the winter and saves your new wheels from the salt and crap.

That's even better than the deal I got last year! Paid £960 inc vat from Peter Vardy ..... I fitted them last week as I had winters on before.

Really nice looking wheels & I managed to seal them with GTechnic G5 before fitting, as they look quite tricky to clean!

I'll keep an eye out for you on my travels! What colour is your machine?

Yeah, that's mine now.
I ordered it with 18" Orbit Grey 398's, which had Michelin Pilot Super Sports Non Runflats as standard, but I fitted Alpin winter tyres for the colder weather ... They were absolutely BRILLIANT by the way! The car got through everything, without any fuss at all. Apart from the lack of ground clearance, I think it would've given a land rover a run for its money!!

I'll keep the winters fitted for next year and I've still got the partly used Michelins stored, which I will use at some point.

The 19 runflats give a slightly firmer ride, which should improve when I change them for non runflats later. I found that potholes were very much easier with the 18's, although I've become quite adept at avoiding the buggers!

I've done just over 13k in the car now.

FS: 400M Alloys with good tyres https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1487974

How about these.... just buy some winter tyres and then sell the other tyres separately.

Mottok said he'll be selling his wheel set soon too

Mrwinterwheels is where I got my winter set from, as have others on here

Just joined up so can't PM yet, but did you email anyone specific at Peter Vardy or just the general parts dept?

Don't think they've got any in just now but a.n. other garage just quoted me circa £700 for a single front wheel, which doesn't seem great value so going to shop around.

Cheers!

Hi mate, just email the parts department on their website, I spoke to a guy named John. If you say I got them for £900 last week he should be able to sort you out if they have some left as I know at least two more sets have gone since I was in.

The've sold out unfortunately (something like 14 sets just went out the door!).

If they get anymore in, hopefully they'll give me a shout.

Cheers!
