Man up! Coding in the NY/NJ/PA area

We really need to get this going, a group of people wanting to get this done, and 1-2 people who know what the hell they are doing.

When I have some free time I want to dive into this further, seems like all the information is out there just have to weave through it all and get a cable.

Yep.

All we need is one to two cables and a group of people.

Having just 1-2 people who are confident from doing this before would make it that much better.

Do you have someone that knows how to do this, or is that part of the question?

It's part of the quest. I am a noob myself.

Seems pretty easy, but with the ability to brick a car, I wouldn't want to touch my car until I got a complete handle on it.

Other than that, I'd be willing to try it.

That's how I feel about it too.

You can save a copy of your cars stock setup. If someone was there just to walk us through that process it would take away most of the risk.

But if you brick the car, can you reload your stock setup and be on your way?
Or does it literally brick the car and require a new ECU (or whatever module we would be programming)?

From what I read, if you save the settings you can restore the car to avoid the bricking.

LOL.

I still have hope for an actual group first.

So far I think you are the only person to actually reply in here.

Hey guys, happy to let you know I have the right cable & software. I coded few dozen F10's, F01's, F13/12...etc And I'm sure that the F30 is the same thing, atleast in my eyes. I can probably code it without any issues. If you want to setup a meet day at my shop and for a small fee get everyone's car coded.

Why don't we get a couple people and do it all at once.

Details would be helpful to post here, like if you were charged $$$ and results.

My buddy got his F13 650i coded and he was extremely happy (DVD, windows, welcome lights, etc). I'll provide details via PM because I know the Mods don't like that. That's why I stated to PM me.
