HELP - Steering Wheel Issues
I have a no-line '13 328xi and really can't stand the stock steering wheel. It's honestly one of the lowest quality wheels in a $40k+ car I can ever remember. I found a sport wheel on Ebay ($225) and some jerk-off told me it would fit perfectly on my car. Most reputable places that sell parts would tell you that you would need other expensive items to make it all work. Not thinking too clearly and trusting him I bought the wheel and then realized that my no-line controls and airbag didn't fit when I scheduled my install. I ended up finding the new sport controls at ECS ($180), and then bought a sport air-bag ($400) on Ebay and finally had everything installed last Friday. The guy I bought the airbag from was super cool, even bought my no-line airbag back for $215. So all in for parts I'm at ~$600. I did read up and saw a number of people upgraded to the M Sport, and Sport wheels from other F30's but nobody mentioned that the airbag error light would light up. I was told my airbag was new, and my installer did mention to me that my 328xi would need some new coding from the dealer since the airbag was different. I took my car to the dealer today and they charged me $160 in labor to tell me that my light won't go off. I'm in a bit of quandary and have no doubt there are many people on here that know a lot more than my dealer so any suggestions would be much appreciated. Next time I'm buying a SPORT, or M SPORT!!

Wow! I bought a M-sport steering wheel in Germany on Ebay last week, almost brand new for only 240 euro (incl P+P) and asked my dealer to put it in, knowing about the decoding.... He only charged me 39,- euro for it. (But it has to be said that I am buying BMW's from him since 1985! 6 new ones) Now I put my sportline steering on the dutch Ebay for let's say 400,- euro?
