BMS spacers

Hey all, looking for some feedback on the f30 BMS spacers. This will be the first time Ive done any kind of modding to the wheels of my car, but it seems like BMS has some solid products. Going with 10 in front and 15 in the back. For anyone who has these spacers, or any kind of spacers in their f30, any comments on changes in performance, good or bad (wheel wobbling, rubbing, etc) . Im not a track guy but I do drive my car hard if I have an open road ahead of me. Any known long term problems, installation tips (having a garage install for me so I should be fine), and any other comments! currently running the stock 18’’ turbine wheels.

I'm new here so take it for what it's worth. The spacers make the car look better to me so they're definitely appealing to the eye. However, mine has caused a slight shimmy in the steering wheel at around 45mph and it goes away at 55 or so. With BMS's reputation in sure my set is a fluke but something to watch out for. They don't accept returns apparently so it's a cost I'm gonna have to eat cause I'm not selling them with a known issue.

do you think it was an issue during your install?

I use BMS spacers and lugs. They are top quality. No issues at all. I highly recommend it. If you buy good quality spacers you should have no negative issues.

Definitely possible but I did remount twice without a difference. I did notice slight play when putting them on the hub. As if they don't seat exact and wobble abit. Once I mounted the wheel though there wasn't any noticeable space between the spacer and hub. I'll try again and see if something is keeping them from seating perfectly.

There is a rubber cap on the hub you must remove if you want the spacer to seat properly...but that's quite obvious during the install.

Mine are perfect. I went 10/15 on my 435i with factory 19s. Could have gone 18mm in the rear and the car would have still looked like it was driven by an adult, but 15mm looks great.

Maybe I am lucky but I didnt have to remove the dust cap on my 428i GC. I went with 10/12 f/r. I could have installed 15mm in the rear for sure. Once I lower it, I may rotate 12 to the front and add 15 to the rear.

There is no way for the spacer to seat properly on the hub with the dust cap on. It's blatant once you slide it on. You likely did not have the dust caps...there's no rhyme or reason to the cars that came with or without them by model/build-date.

You know mine did have the dust cap on. The spacers slid right over it but I couldn't get an exact fit. Apparently that's what caused the slight wobble. The instructions online didn't mention removing the dust cap. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.....really appreciate it!

Very odd. I have this dust cap but didn't remove them when I installed my BMS spacers. No issues at all.

That was a pic I received from Burger Tuning. Maybe some slide over without issue and when I put mine on, it didn't seem like the cap was causing the slight wobble. They told me I should remove that piece and they'll be fine. I'm just curious if removing the dust cap will cause issues down the road. I would assume the cap is there for a reason but maybe the wheel will suffice as a cover. Also, it doesn't seem like the dust cap will just pop off. I think it might need to be pried off carefully with a flathead.

I had dust caps on my RWD 2014 335i. I needed to remove them for the BMS spacers to seat properly. 26k miles and zero issues.

Can someone post pics of 10/15 spacers on an f30/335 with OEM 18" squared 8" wheels? I've seen a lot of pics on the 4er, but I think the rear fenders are wider than the 335.

Engelb I think you're close to that, just with 19's.

Thanks...

Hi, like the OP i'm a complete newbie when it comes to the world of spacers. Can adding spacers increase the likelihood of kerb rash and scrapes to your wheels?

Did anyone experience such thing after adding spacers on their car? Or is it just one of those shitty things where it could happen regardless of width?

Interested in hearing user experiences.

Sure, since your wheel track is wider, but I think not paying attention or your wife driving is the real reason for curb rash!

I bought a "no name" set of 12/15mm on ebay that included lugs for 1/2 the price of BMS. They are anodized black and appear to be very well machined. No fitment or other issues.
