Damaged 442M wheel
Not sure if this should be here or wheels?
I have no idea how, but somehow my driver side 442M has been damaged on the diamond cut alloy rim. Now I know these wheels are prone to corrosion if the lacquer gets scratched. Any thoughts for how I can repair and seal the damage? I have put some bike grease on for now, bit unsightly but will seal and has rust inhibitor. Thanks, Ian. |

Find a good wheel repair shop. I found one near me that was recommended by a highend European car repair shop. I was skeptical at first until I saw the work. I needed a wheel on my wife's MDX repaired. They had to weld in some material to fill the damage, refinished the wheel and repainted in as it had some painted areas. The results were perfect. A brand new looking wheel. The shop owner gave me a tour of his shop and showed me the work that was being done on a Lambo Aventador wheel and it was amazing to watch.
The price was also not bad for the work that was done. I can't remember the exact price but it was around $75. |
