It's still possible to actually fit 265 tires on 8.5" wide wheels, but it will look odd/bulgy and it isn't an approved fitment.
You think there's any safety issues in 265 on 8.5 width. Thanks again!

hello,I'm new here. I have a 335i f30 rwd and I got the style 397 rims. The car came OEM with 225/45 18 'for all wheels. Then I replaced the rear tires to 255/40 18 'and alignment the steering and the wheels. from here the car lost stability mainly at high speeds on the highway. Bad alignment or it will not be allowed to place staggered tires ?

Thank you

I'm shopping for Toyo Proxy R888s for my 335i M Sport for track days and evidently, Toyo doesn't make R888s in my stock tire size 225/40 R19 front and 245/30 R19 rear. Can I run 245/35 R19 front and 265/30 R19 rear without any issues on my stock style 403M wheels? The car is on stock suspension with M sport springs.

Mak lu wheels fitment q

Hey all

Looking to lower my 430d x drive on acs springs and want a set wheels of which will give a flush fitment

Would 19 by 8.5 et 38 front
19 by 9.5 et48 rear

What tyres would you recommend I put on those wheels and would it be a nice flush fitment. I don't want any poke. Just want it in line with the body work.

I am thinking either stock size tyres or 245/35 front and 265/30 rear if it fits?

the above widths and offsets listed are good and much better than those listed in post #227.

the tire sizes should be 235/40/19F, 265/35/19R

Thanks for the response.

Would that be a nice stanced fitment then. No issues with clearance or rubbing if i lower the x drive car using ACS springs?

Perfect fitment then?

19x8.5 +33 w/235/40/19F shouldn't rub unless you're slammed. +38 would assure no rub since it's tucked in 5mm further. +42 rear should be good

edit...8.5, +33 up front should be good

Winter tyre

Hello,

My f30 330e i performance, M pack is just under production and I've chosen the oem 704M alloy wheels with 8"x19 with 225/45/19 and 8,5"x19 with 255/35/19 wheels with summer tires.
But, as usual the car is in delay, so likely I will get it by the end of October on beginning of November. Therefore, I would like to buy a set if winter tyre.

From the BMW sortiment the 397 style looks the best for me, but my dealer sent some photo from the Breyton wheels (www.breyton.com) and I love the Race GTS/GTS2 look with gun metal color (http://breyton.com/vehicle-fitment?fitment=587 ) much better then the standard oem 397 rim. I hope you understand :-)

My main concern whether should I go for the 19" or 18" size for winter use?
The wheel distributor of course says that take the asymmetric 19" without RFT, but rather with a BMW air compressor with glue. But, my mechanics is trying to convince not to go for 19" due to he potholes where the wheels and the tires can damaged much more easily, however I will use this car manly in the city with lower speed.
Therefore, I will sacrifice the more stylish 19" wheels going to the 18" size.

BMW proposes in this size the 225/45/18 tires and I'm hesitating to buy 4 peace from this size or a little bit wider on the rear axle (255).
But, Breyton has only 7,5" and 8,5"x18.

I can imagine that the in case of the 7.5x18 inch I would have the advantage that the tire will protect the rim a little bit more than on a 8,5x18 inch rim.

My question what would be the difference in terms of stability, riding comfort, etc.
And what would be the advice of a tire expert in this forum?

Any advice would be appreciated.

EDIT: nevermind ... found the answer in a video. "Style 400M"..

Can anyone tell me what "style id" wheels these are?

These are on my 2017 340i xdrive (square setup, 225/45/18 all around, msport pkg, NO track pkg).

It's possible I may be using a second set of those for the summer, though I will probably go with a different (wider!!) style. Just put 4 blizzaks on them for the winter!

I really want to replace the 17” on my 2017 320i, if I go with 19” would 225/45/19 tires work? I have stock suspension. Would there be any problems? I really want to kill the wheel gap.

225/45-19 will fit fine with offset around 30-35.

3% taller than OEM size but that just helps to correct the optimistic speedo.

Thanks, that's great that they would work! I want to get rid of the wheel gap as much as possible. I've been searching for pictures of 320i with 225/45/19, but have not been able to find any .. I want a visual before I commit. I don't know if I mentioned but my 320i is standard non sport suspension.

Bolt Pattern

Hey all,
I know we're 5x120 for the bolt pattern, but some sites ask for the hole (5) but at what inch spacing:?

Options include: 4.41, 4.5 & 4.72

Cheers!

Winter Rims

Hello Everyone,

I just recently bought a 2015 428i Gran Coupe and it came with these stock rims: 18" Double Spoke Style 397 (Sport Line wheels) - 18x8" ET34

Now I'm looking at these rims on ebay: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/17-Inch-BMW-.../122622683910?

I messaged the guy and he said they came from a 2011 323 with a 7 digit part # 6775 599. Now will these rims fit on my car with the correct offset?

Thanks!

Those are Style 161 from the E90. They come in 2 widths:
8x17 ET 34 (9.70 kg) front application use 225/45R17 tires - part # 36116775599
8.5x17 ET 37 (10.20 kg) rear application use 255/40R17 tires - part # 36116775600

Someone else will have to comment on the "will they fit?" but the Style 397s, while a bit heavier, look much nicer to me, especially with the curb rash on the eBay set! Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! These are for winter so I'm ok with the curb rash and the reason why I'm looking for 17 inch rims as the Winter Tires will be cheaper for these.

It looks like the fronts will be ok since they are the same offsets, but the rears I'm not too sure. I put it in the offset calculator and it says:

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 9.3mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 3.3mm more than before.

http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...8-5&offset2=37

Does anyone know will the rears fit correctly?
