Sneak peak - ER turbo side charge pipes
Little sneak peak of the NEW ER pipe for the turbo side.
Pictures show a brushed finish. I did order a polished part but received this one. ER also forgot to include the hardware. Pipe is on it's way back to ER for polishing. Having dealing with ER on many other items I am a little disappointed this time around. Wrong finish and missing hardware is a result of poor execution on there half. Usually there is a QA checklist in every package, this package was also missing this checklist. Spoke with Christine about the issue and she didn't seem up to speed about this item claiming it's a prototype and there's not much info on it. This was the reasoning behind the missing hardware and coupler. This doesn't change my opinion on ER. I am still happy with the quality and workmanship. ER get more organized with selling new items! Right now I just wish I had the right parts to put on |

Every now and then mishaps happen but im glad to see that they are working on replacing the pipe for you.
Not sure why there was no checklist with your package, we always get the ER checklist with all our ER shipments.

Christine's response to everything was that it was prototype but Fred has stated that they are in production phase. Christine may not be up to date with it all, no worries. I have always received the checklist as well. The pipe is expected to be delivered back to ER on Monday. It'll probably be a case of not having it back for 2 weeks since ER has to send it out to get polished. Hoping for a quick turn-around! |

What is the reason they suddenly changed their mind and made the turbo side charge pipe? Before they claimed it was not necessary.
Is it only for the looks?

I would have thought that with this pipe being directly after the turbo, but before the FMIC (essentially a resistance to flow), that the highest pressure reading would be measured in the Hotside CP. As a result I would expect a firm alloy pipe (as opposed to a flexible rubber one) to have quite a big difference wrt to retaining pressure and not deforming under it, and therefore improving response and possible a little power (though that is a function of the boost which is controlled according to a sensor on the cold side... so maybe just response). Did you install your FMIC and Coldside CP, or did you have a shop do it? how long did it take and how difficult was it? any tricks? Cheers. Last edited by Stubok; 03-11-2015 at 07:00 PM.. |
