It's nowhere near as quick as the 335d! I meant it's quicker in sport than in comfort (which is obvious I know) and then compared the progressive nature compared to the sport in the F30.

I'm under no illusions that it's a supersized Lamborghini, don't worry!
Oh i see!

How does it compare in perceived performance to the 335d?
I didn't take it above 3k rpm so I can't comment yet, but don't you worry my friend, I'll soon be bored of that and stomping the throttle! I'll let you know

In terms of comfort - it's ridiculous! We've talked about the road noise and comfort of the F30 to death but the suspension just soaks up the road humps and pot holes so far.

Love it.
I bet if it's got air suspension! Can you raise and lower it like range rovers?
Not that I can see so far. It looks like only the front has air suspension as per the pictures below: happy to be proved wrong of course!

Just changed the grilles - thank you so much to everyone that contributed to the grille changing thread - it now looks like it should!

This link to the X5 F15 forum has information on the suspension options, albeit for the USA, but UK is similar.

In M Sport guise the front is adaptive dampers and the rear is air suspension. My X5 has the factory fitted electric deploy towbar. Apparently the rear suspension is then changed to self levelling air suspension.

Pretty sure the rear will be self levelling air and the front not air. I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain that's been the case on X5 last couple of versions.

That's my understanding, (picture is difficult to see, but does appear to be a bit of coil spring showing in the background).

Best put the VIN in a decoder and see what the suspension spec is, 2VA will be the Adaptive Drive option.
