Wondering if anyone would have any clue what this is? Have seen 2 on YouTube but nobody can say what it is?

Have had it checked multiple times from Bmw but can’t find anything.

Two very common causes of this type of noise are the engine cover (vibrating and hitting the air inlet pipework) and the push-fit connection in the air inlet pipework just behind the fresh air inlet (behind the grille) which can come loose.

The first can be cured using felt or foam adhesive pads to isolate the cover. The second just needs a few wraps of suitable tape (or a single wrap of suitably thin foam tape) before firmly push-fitting them together again.

Thank you for this ! I had a look today and Iv looked into the air inlet pipe some people put a rivet in, when checking mine it already has a rivet in, not sure if this is from factory or not, as for the engine cover I’ll give this a try too and report back.

Really appreciate the feedback
