I know, I was clearing up the possible misconception that the map updates were free in Europe.

You'll need to download the files, out 'em on a USB stick, enter the code you receive and then wait for it to update.

Dracon will send you instructions. No 'coding' required.

Hi everybody.

I just upgraded my map (business) 2015 for $50US and like the previous postings all I need to do is download and place the files in a USB stick and plug in the USB in port in the glove compartment and after about 10min I had to enter the code that was emailed to me and I got the latest map.

Cant believe it just cost me much less than what I am prepared to pay the BMW stealer/dealer.

I figured for $50.00 if it did not work all I loose is my lunch money for a week ... hehehe.... but it worked.

As per previous post - 2015 Maps are now available. I just did another update with fantastic service from dracon@gmail.com again.

You will need two codes as they are VIN dependent.

I did mine over the weekend as well. It took a total of around 30 minutes from sending the email to dracon to the update was downloaded and installed.

My car is new enough that I think it probably already has the FSC code - but only the 2014 maps.

Picking up my new car this week, anyone know if the dealer will do a free map update? Have already asked to have the stop start reprogrammed during negotiations but didn't realize 2015 maps would be available.

What improvements are apparent in the maps?
My map shows very few street names and hasn't been updated since I bought my car.

I took delivery on 27/11 but I'm still on 2014 maps. Can i get the files somewhere to see if the fsc is already precoded, or should I just wait until the first service?

You cant precode an FSC code mate and the stealer will charge you a bomb to install the new maps. Given you have a relatively new car you may be able to "convince" them to install it for free but that depends on your negotiating skills.

Its only $50US to get it sorted though!!

I don't know if precode is the right word but I can vouch that it does exist/work.

I updated my car to 2014 maps and did not have to put in the FSC code.

Forum member shawnsheridan explained it to me in that because my car build was very close to the release date of the 2014 maps it shipped with a code that would enable me to just simply update the map.

It makes sense because delivery may take 3 months + for some countries and by the time your car arrives it will have an old map.

Btw my car is also a November build but 2013.

There is no harm in downloading the map to see if it works. If not just buy the FSC code afterwards. At most you may be out of a map for 24 hours whilst waiting on the seller to reply with FSC code.

So if anyone has the links to d/l map I'm sure it would be most appreciated.

Feng, PM me your email address and I will send you the link to the 2015 maps, you'll then find out if it can be done!

Hi all.

Got the 2015 maps from HFW003.

Extracted to USB.
Plugged into car.
Turned car on.

The car then told me that there was newer map information on the USB stick and if I wanted to update. I said yes.

I now have 2015 maps with no FSC.

My car was manufactured in September and delivered into AU in November. I took delivery 27/11.

So the rumour is true!
