My 02... On some cars the CEL will cycle itself off. Meaning if something triggers it once and that situation does not reoccur, after say 10x of starting the car and shutting it off it'll automatically cycle itself off.
That reason is why a lot of people suggest disconnecting the battery to see if it comes back on or it was a fluke thing during an install. You read this a lot in forums about installing mods; not sure if it's relevant here but wanted to share.

For the catless downpipe can't we just put a sparkplug non fouler so the O2 is not in-stream of the exhaust and not throw any codes. I used to do this on my vw and worked like a charm.

We have to see if any other cases of it even occur. This is the first an only thus far. We tested on our end for close to 3k miles now with no lights at all.

A spacer is always possible if needed.

Still no word from anyone regarding sound/video clips of the stock car back with a downpipe?

An error code came up during a scan although the CEL never came on for me. I would still happily keep the HFC on my car.

I've been too busy to install mine. I should have it done in a week or two and then I'll make a video.

I purchased my challenge catless DP about 2 weeks ago. It took a couple days for my CEL to come on. Sounds awesome and gets slightly noticeable more power. I am at the time running stock exhaust though waiting on the challenge exhaust. Best 500 I've put into my car so far. Fitment was flawless, nothing but compliments on the sound even though the stock exhaust is rather restricting. I unplugged the exhaust valve while doing this install too so that both tips are always open (you must unplug after the valve is already open). Will post sound clips soon

Nice review. What kind of noticeable power?

Hurry on the video? Also is the increase in sound in all 3 modes ECO/Comfort and Sport and Sport being the loudest or?

Unplug after the valve is open - is that the 'golf tee' mod? I also can't wait to hear a vid. I already took a 'before' vid of startup and revving. Stupid work won't leave me alone and I'm going out of town again this weekend... I'll have it done next weekend at the latest.

Haven't purchased the exhaust yet, I believe it's coming out in a month. And yes it is ever so slightly louder in sport. I personally never liked cats so for $500, you can't beat it. Not one complaint

How do you know the valve is open to unplug it? Do you need to leave it in a mode or something and do it or?

You have to just out the car in sport + mode. It'll open the left side. Theirs a spring type of material that pops off.

Man so I just spent some time last night trying to install the downpipe. I got under the car and unbolted the four nuts and had the stock DP free but there was no way in h3ll I could undo the sensors. They are on the wrong side of the DP and there was just no angle. Plus being on my back under the car made it even worse of a PITA.

So I bolted the stock stuff back on and drove around to a couple shops today. I was quoted $200-$300 by three different shops which is rediculous for something I could have done in 1.5 hours on my back if those sensors were more accessable. I'll probably just pony up and pay to get it installed Wed unless there are any words of widsom to be shared on those sensors...

Garage List
I think most people remove the cat, and unplug the sensors, then unscrew them from the cat on a work bench.

Man, what a waste of two hours that was yesterday I need pics on where those sensors plug in. I tried to follow the lines up but never saw where they connected.

Mike,

Its much easier to follow the sensors back, unplug them, and removed the o2 sensors with the cat off the car. Youll need to access where they plug in up top for best access.
